He wasnt a ball hawk at UT

Agree. His Ints:

2012: 2
2011: 2
2010: 1

The article does nothing to follow up on the title.

Exactly.

If anything, Broadus's review says the opposite.

This isn't exactly a glowing review.

He played mostly in the slot
People ignore this way too often when talking about him as a playmaking FS.

if he was capable of generating turnovers it would not matter where he played. He is not.

Lol looks like most of you said enough. I don't even need to add. I'm just gonna laugh if we pick him.

I will only be upset if they pick him if Cooper, Richardson and Warmack are still on the board. If they are all gone then he would be a solid pick.

Slot CBs do not generate a lot of turnovers. It definitely matters where a guy plays and how he is used.

I honestly don't know his stats but in my view not really a ballhawk.

The Texas defense has been horrible the last 4 or 5 years. That matters on turnivers.....

That being said we see nothing to make us think he's a turnover machine. I do think he's a solid safety. I think this draft is full of solid safeties.

We need Oline and this draft is full of oline at about anywhere in the draft and you know usually I'm all about value, but we could learn something from Seattle. If you like someone and you have him rated high take him and let the know it alls heckle you.

I think you need to go back and watch Vacarro play in his first two season at Texas. Watch him play before he went to the slot. That will give you a better idea of what kind of traditional Safety he can be.

The fact that he played in the slot does not hurt him either. It actually helps him a great deal. Average Safeties don't play in the slot in a passing conference like the Big 12. They come out and get subbed for by a CB.

Just so everybody understands what I'm saying, I'm not for taking a Safety in the 1st. I'm for taking the best player available at OL, DL or Safety. I'm just not as convinced as many of you are that Vacarro will not be that guy when our turn comes to pick.

I agree completely Warmack/Richardson/Cooper/Werner, looking at him two years ago you can see he has hands like a receiver, last year was a disaster for that defense, to his credit he played hard the entire game even when it was a blowout nearly every week.

Vaccaro's a good Safety. I don't understand all the hate on these boards. The guy's the consensus #1 S prospect in the draft for a reason. He played in the slot last year so his INT #'s aren't there, but he has the ability. I think another reason the Cowboys like him so much is he's a great leader. He was the QB on the defensive side of the ball at Texas. And he's a stand-up guy, which Garrett loves.

Now, I'm not saying that means we should draft him. I think we should go OL in the first no matter what, but if he's BPA at one of our 3 major needs, then I wouldn't mind it at all.
