So assuming trades are off the table (and I anticipate a trade):

9- Tyron Smith T USC

40- Brooks Reed OLB UA

71- Will Rackley OG Lehigh

109- Joe Lefeged S Rutgers

140- Rashad Carmichael CB VT

171- Alex Green RB Hawaii

209- Bruce Miller OLB UCF

My lack of d-line disturbs me. So not a perfect effort.

Ironically, with this set up, I think the easiest scenario allows us to basically solve our offensive line issues in 2 rounds if you dont mind going OL the 1st and 2nd.

I also had issues finding DL help this go around.

I don't trust Powe or he might have been considered. They go early. But Smith, Watkins, Reed, et al are too tempting.

I love this draft and would not even think about taken Mallet in the 2nd.

This draft was solid. Smith then Watkins is a move I like, I just didn't have the stones. If it happened, I'd be happy.

I'm not hot for Clay. I'd go Mario Fannin if I was to take a 7th round flyer at RB. Might can coach the fumbles out of him.

#9
Cameron Jordan DE California

#40
Danny Watkins OG Baylor

#71
Chimdi Chekwa CB Ohio St.

Jacquizz Rodgers RB Oregon St.

#171
Deunta Williams S UNC

#209
Chris Nield DT W. Virginia

RD#1: Julio Jones: Not a need, but also not a talent I pass on. Paired with Bryant and Austin could instantly make the Dallas Cowboys the most dangerous passing team in the league.

RD#2: Danny Watkins: Left with taking the 6th best tackle or the 2nd best guard. Both are needs. I'll take the value pick.

Rd#3: James Carpenter: picking below the value of my spot, but addresses a team need.

Rd#4: Buster Skrine: Speed, fluidity, and combine workouts make this kid just too interesting to pass up. Small school competition doesn't scare me away from this project with a huge upside.

Rd#5: Casey Matthews: No one expects this kid to be his brother, but I like his motor. It doesn't hurt that football courses through the kid's DNA. Could be a decent nickel player right off the bat.

Rd#6: Deunta Williams: Been on the radar the entire time and falls right to us in the 6th.

Rd#7: Mark Legree: Go completely against my draft value board and take a pet cat with hope that he can be a strong ST contributor and challenge for time at FS

Hopefully with my draft we get Clabo in FA and make a push for a sure thing in Huff.

:laugh2:

Seven of you picked Deunta Williams. Is that a sign or a portent?

That's really bad. So much for my keen powers of observation.
