Does anyone know when the 2008 Draft Guides will be coming out, and which do you think is the best for overall information?

MODS can you please give this time to get some responses before moving to draft form?

Thanks

Several are already out.

Lindy's is pretty good. IMO

Someone else mentioned that the Sporting News was out but they weren't impressed.

Stolen from something I posted in the past:

Here are some of my favorite draft guides:

Draft Insiders - Frank Coyle puts out a pretty comprehensive draft guide. He's not always on target with his rankings or picks but he has info on most players that end up in training camp - even the un-drafted ones.
www.draftinsiders.com

NFL Draft Blitz - Jterrell turned me on to this last year and its worth checking out. It, like Draft Insiders, provides a comprehensive listing of players and evaluations. IIRC last year's guide was over 700 pages.

Ourlads - Nice guide with some well written player evaluations. This guide isn't as deep as either of the previous guides but worth picking up.

GMJR - I bought this guide last year for the first time and it impressed me with the number of players profiled. The book was several hundred pages thick and rates positions differently than others do. Worth checking out if you have $31 to spend.

No luv for Melsy Duane? :D

I pickup both Ourlad's and Kipers.

To me the ones out on the newstand are out too early and don't generally speaking do a good job.

When Joel B. was still alive I'd pick up his guide also... too bad he's no longer here. :(

Mel does OK but the larger guides have kind of spoiled me. I love being able to read write ups on players we pick up as UDRFAs.

Yeah I love reading about them... right here. :D

I like Lindys. I think that is a good magazine. I dont know if Athlon does a draft one, I assume they do, but I always get the Lindy's and Athlon magazines when they come out over the summer and have a section to read on every team and what they did last year and what they did this offseason and such.

Good reads.

I usually look at stuff online like the thehuddlereport.com or nfldraftcountdown.com. The huddle report keeps score of top 100 boards and mock drafts around the net at http://www.thehuddlereport.com/FREE_CONTENT/top100mock.shtml

Of course Gosselin is the best for mock drafts and top 100 boards, but he doesn't do a whole lot of content before the draft.

YAKUZA
has beaten Kiper for the 2nd year in row.

As far as newstand versions go, I prefer Lindy's to PFWeekly and especially Sporting News.

I've found Sporting News to be way too opinionated and their opinions are usually waaaaaaayyyyy off.

I wasn't impressed with Ourlad's when I did pick it up. Looked like something a guy printed out of his basement!

I've always been curious about GMjr and if it's worth it.

Lindy's is great

I just want to know when NFLDraftScout became apart of it? or were they always in it?

off would be an understatement. They have the Louisville QBas the highest rated QB and DRC should be taken in the 3rd round. Their projected rounds of some players is extremely disapppointing and their ratings of players is absolutely absurd. We had 13 pro bowlers but only 3-4 of them are consider elite players. I would not endorse this years sporting news draft guide. Not for the money you have to spend on it.
