Draft Hindsight

Since 2010 for the hell of it

1. Probably Escobar too. Runner up would be AoA.
2. Sean Lee.
3. Hard to say. I generally don't hate picks outside one or two over a handful of years. I guess (hopefully) Taco, as I wanted Watt last year?
4. Bruce Carter. Respected him at UNC(GT fan). Looked like a stud his first year here(playing). Then poof.

Trying to kill time before Thursday...

1. What is a draft pick that you hated at the time and ended up being right?
2. Pick you loved and was right?
3. Pick you hated and was wrong?
4 Pick you loved and was wrong?

1. the entire 2009 draft class - hated every single move
2. Demarco Murray
3. D Ware
4. B Carpenter

Wasn’t fond of Byron jones(jury still out on that one), Escobar, bobby carpenter sort of. I wasn’t fuming but was leaning more towards cautiously negative

2. Pick you loved and was right?

Sean lee, Dez Bryant(he was really good for a while)

3. Pick you hated and was wrong?

I’m generally one to drink the koolaid, but maybe Travis Fredrick a little. I was weary of that even though i knew o line was needed

4 Pick you loved and was wrong?

Mo Claiborne

I don’t like drafting safeties high. There were a lot of times I was venemently against drafting safeties like Kenny vacarro and Mark Barron when many people wanted them. I feel right about that. I’m hugely against earl Thomas because in no way should we give up premium picks and all that money for him.

Great OP!

1) Quincy Carter, Jaylon smith (maybe, still hoping I'm wrong), entire 2009 draft, Barbie over manny Lawson, the Notre Dame RB guy over Steven Jackson, the time we passed on Anquon Boldon, Byron Jones, Chaz Green,
2) Zeke, Dez, Witten
3) I'll admit I thought we would regret passing on JFB but I didn't hate the Martin pick either, Dak Prescott, Chido, TFred (loved the player thought we took him a round too early)
4) Gregory,

Modern Cowboys Drafts:
1. Claiborne - I hated trading up for him
2. Ware - He seemed to have great makeup and was uber talented
3. Lee - I did not like getting another red shirt type
4. Dez - I thought this guy was going to grow up into a HOFer, never grew up

Ill give a half assed response and just say I thought when we signed Steve Walsh in that supplemental draft (remember those) right after we had already picked Aikman, was an utter waste of time

I think jimmy supposedly thought Walsh was better. There was also the idea that Troy never liked any of the head coaches he played with(at the time), even having some grudges against them going back to his college days.

Quincy Carter
2. Pick you loved and was right?
Bob Lilly
3. Pick you hated and was wrong?
Jay Ratliff
4 Pick you loved and was wrong?
Danny Noonan
Noonan

1. Taco Charlton, Chaz Green, every pick in 2009
2. Ware, Bryant, Elliott, T. Smith
3. Jay Ratliff, Prescott (maybe?)
4. 1st & 3rd round picks traded for WR Roy Williams
There's no right or wrong w/ Taco yet. Way too soon.

I believe Jimmy said his main reason for taking Walsh there was to hopefully get someone to trade for him and get some picks out of him. And it worked. Saints gave a first for him i believe.

I'm in complete shock at how many hated the Fredbeard pick. For Bog's sake, why? Did the sports spewers on TV talk you into it?

Thought he was picked early. Liked the player, seemed like we reached relative to the market. Only saw one rating which had him going in the first, and that end of first to second. Most were second to third. His combine poor. His 40 time was laughable. Was considered a poor fit for a zone blocking scheme.
