Well i will move to another approach after yesterday's gut wrenching loss.

I believe it was a perfect example of what we need to focus on in the draft.

O-line has been a need for Parcell's whole tenure, still is.

And i believe we saw that we need to draft a QB next year.

Bledsoe may be gone after this year, and who do we have behind Romo? Baker? i do not like having an undrafted FA as the backup to another undrafted FA. Im sure they will bring in another vet if Bledsoe goes, however we need to draft one desperately.

and in my opinion, i can sum it in two words:

Jamarcus Russell

I'd like to see us trade our next 2 first round draft picks for a chance at getting Brady Quinn.

Parcells doesn't like rook QBs (minus Bledsoe), so drafting the QB of the future won't matter yet since he'll still want a vet to lead the team. What QBs are in FA next year?

Anyone have that link that was circulating on here a few weeks back about 2007 FA at each spot? I lost it. Top 5 of each it had.

Quinn may not be the first overall pick, so this could become possible. If the Raiders are sold on Walters by the end of this season they would be out of the running (maybe they would take Adrian Peterson). The Titans have their QB of the future, so do the 49ers, Packers, Cardinals, and Jets (maybe). Calvin Johnson could be ahead of Quinn. I have not put a lot of thought or prediction into this, but guessing Quinn could slide to 3-4 and a trade up to here may not be as far of a jump as we all hoped before the season started. Give me Quinn.

Regarding the O-line, I agree with you.

Regarding the QB, I don't see it. I don't understand how the failure of the caretaker QB who likely will be out of the mix next season condemns our backup who has been groomed for 3 years. Obviously once the reigns are handed over we will need a quality backup, but that doesn't have to be handled in the draft - at least not with a high pick. A veteran who can continue to mentor Romo might be the better choice.

Brian Brohm!

Iunno but it looks like we may be picking in the same spot as last year or somewhere close to it. If Brohm decides to declare he may drop to the late teens in the first round round and thats who we should draft. This guy is GOOD...

I like Jamarcus, but it's a bad week to bring his name up. He fumbled a snap at a crucial moment and LSU lost the ball and the game. How is that dis-similar to Bledsoe's INT at a crucial moment yesterday?

i think the difference is that he did not play a bad game all game, and i do not believe he was responsible for their other loss against Auburn.

no QB is perfect, and i just think Russell is a good prospect

As a Florida Gator, I love Jamarcus Russell. His fumble along with his 3 PICKS sealed the deal in the Swamp. Not too sure hed be the best pick as our future starter.

I don't think Bledsoe did either, but I'm apparently alone in that thought. Not that I care.

I like Russell, but he does make some errors that leave you scratching your head.

I agree with a previous poster on Brohm unless we can get Quinn. Brohm's injury might be our blessing in disguise. He might land right in our laps.

:laugh2:

I bet you do. You Gators look good. With Auburn going down you might crack top 3.

Russell is a good prospect but he probably wont declare this year. The guy has a rocket for an arm and size is not an issue for him. He has decent mobility. The only negative about him is that he makes plenty of bad reads while forcing things to much.

Can you say Jason Campbell? No thanks.
Brohm is good, but that offense does not look like it has lost much without either he or Bush in the line-up, so it may be the system under Petrino.

I don't think he should declare, but I say that about all Junior QBs.

You mean like USC after Palmer left? Leinart looks pretty good for a rook. Booty probably will as well.

Nothing wrong with a system QB if the team runs a Pro set and Louisville does. IMO.

They havent played anybody worth two cents since Brohm has gone down so thats probably why the offense hasnt lost a step. Not to mention Cantwell is a good QB and they are loaded with talent. If Brohms not back for the WVU game than they will obviously be in trouble, and you can write that down.

I am still very upset we did not go for Marcus McNeil...I don't think Anthony Fasano will ever live up to his draft status...he is not an impressive athlete...he is a glorified tackle...so why didn't we just draft a Tackle?
