I certainly hope they don't take a receiver or running back at 12, personally I'd rather an offensive Tackle, defensive tackle or Defensive end at 12. Preferably, I'd like to trade back this year an acquire more picks
Yeah, here's the counterpoint to that though,
at some point you got to realize that there's been a lot of really good wide receivers and running backs taken in the top five, top 10 at worse,
if you have a really good one, that's as close to can't miss that can change your team,
why can't you take him at 12? I mean Ezekiel Elliott people don't think was worth the number four overall pick, I say he was,
just because his contract was bad that he got a new big deal that shouldn't have been that big they should have known all the mileage he had on him in college at the 1st 4 years of his career, they were going to get the most out of him and then he was going to go downhill.. the mistake wasn't where we drafted him, he could have won three rushing crowns right out of college, had he not got screwed over by the league with the stupid suspension, he was leading the league in yards per game when he got suspended, he was on a tear, he was the best running back for the first 4 years if you can get that out of your draft pick in the first round at number 12 you take him!! It doesn't matter what position he is if, he's a day one starter ,and he's an impact player, there's no reason not to take him at 12 when a lot of teams have taken them higher in years past.
I mean Saquan Barkley where did he go in the draft? now he's making 20 million apparently he was the catalyst for the Super Bowl last year.. you're saying you can't take a guy like that at 12? no one's predicting he can be Saquan Bartley or Derek Henry or even Ezekiel Elliott but if you think he's that type of prospect how is that a bad pick at 12 and I'm not condoning that...
i'm more for probably the wide receiver of those 2 positions, but I'm just saying if he's the guy he's on your board and he's BPA and he's a big need at the same time why is 12 such a taboo around here? that is why most people wanted us to tank for a higher draft pick well who are you going to take then were you going to be all hesitant at 9?
I mean last time we had to make this choice we had Parsons at 10 we moved down two spots got him and Osa, but a lot of people were saying that about him you don't take a linebacker at 10, you don't take a linebacker at 12, that's a reach right... right so is Tyler Smith and Zach Martin and all these other players look you just got to take who you think is going to be that guy and then move forward...
And I agree though on this ,if it's not AJ the running back, then you don't take another running back at 12, you move down five spots pick up others and then you take your running back if that happens to be Hampton or Henderson, they're worth it at, you know five spots down for sure...
but if you have two or three wide receivers on the board that are ranked in the 1st round top 20 , If One is ranked ahead of everyone else ,on your board there's no reason you can't take them at 12, long as they work out ,and they are high on your board, you take him.
