I was listening to the sports radio here in Dallas Friday afternoon. They had some draft expert - got in late and never got his name - and he was talking about pick 20 and the possibility of people down the line would want to trade up for it. This guy was skeptical. But he brought up the 2027 draft and the - at this time - wealth of QB's in that draft.

Now I am not here to argue the worth of any QB next year. Just to ask a question or two.

If some team got a wild idea and wanted to trade their 1st next year for 20, presuming at this time a package of two firsts could get you in the neighborhood of a top flight QB in 2027, would you make that trade? I get it that this leaves out so many details, but just give me your thoughts, please.

What if a team wanted to move up for twenty and you could get a 2nd or no second but perhaps a 3rd and fourth this year. Would you?

Would there be any offer where you would sell the 12th for a pick in the first next year?

I hate trading down away from talent. I also don't like trading up much either. Just curious what the temperament is.

Don't trade for picks next year when we need help this year! 12 to move down may the 2nd round pick we don't have which I'd love to see us get! All depends how things fall. I say trade down with both picks

Yes of course. Especially if it were with the idea of a QB.

But Jerry wouldn't. Dak would have to be seriously hurt or terrible for multiple seasons before Jerry would consider it.

Id take a 2nd this year and a first next year for 20, depending on how the board looked.

Dak is a top 8 QB why

The more the draft process has gone on, the more this draft seems weak in premium talent. Many say the difference between players in early to mid rounds is very minimal. So yes, if you can move back in this years draft & pick up higher capital next year that is logical. Now, it does depend on what is available. IF a player has fallen to you that you are completely comfortable with at the pick, that's fine too.

We absolutely ought to be thinking about positioning ourselves for a QB in 2027.

20 for a 2nd and 1st 2027, and maybe a 4th this year as well. Would be a consideration.
Then we get decent 2 players, plus the 3rd we got from SF.
And if #12 was used to get an impact player this year.

Question is, does Dallas feel they did enough in FA this year, to push back on waiting until 2027, when the draft is supposed to be stronger.

What if that team trading is like the Jets, or Brown, Raiders, some team that would be projected to have a top 10 pick.

I asked you in another thread and will ask here. Do you believe the run around in on3e year from worst defense to one that can complete can be done in one year by this front office?
