I have been thinking about all the ideas that have been floating around.
1. Hall
2. Boldin
3. Pacman
I know not many are to fond of trading for players like this. If you wouldn't mind I must ask you to take the time and consider a few things.
1. Our comp picks next draft. (We should be compensated well next year)
2. Our needs next season. (We will obviously have Barber and Canty to long term deals by training camp and should have new deals in place for T.O., Newman and Ware by the end of the season)
3. The draft class next season. (How good will the class be? I mean a lot of juniors are coming out this year)
Why not mortgage next years draft on some established play makers? Next year we have 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, Miami's 6th, 7th.
Hall would cost us a 2nd and 6th throw in a player like Henry because of how weak the draft will be and because we will need some cap space.
Boldin will most likely cost us a 1st so we throw a first and if thats not enough we sing Ayodele their way as well. We would get a great WR who is a team player and has proven himself.
You float our 2nd 6th rounder to the Titans for Pacman and our secondary and return game has improved 100%. We would go from Newman, Reeves and Henry to Newman, Hall and Pacman.
We then still have all our picks for 08 including the 2 first rounders. Even if we had to use some later picks to grab Hall and Pacman we still have 3 picks on day one. The addition of 3 play makers and 2 first round picks would be a huge upgrade for us.
Is this a good idea? Do you think next years draft class is going to be worth holding on to our picks for?
