Is a DE in round 2 still a possibility - Chase Winovich, DE Michigan was a gritty defender who was always around the ball for the Wolverines in 2017. He had an excellent season, totaling 79 tackles with 18 tackles for a loss, eight sacks and two forced fumbles

If you take a "follow the money" approach, who do you think would be the pick at 58 -

Whats the earliest you would draft a HB - could be At 58 Damien Harris

- Would a CB heavy draft surprise you - yup

- Better prospect going into the draft: Michael VS Deebo Samuel = Gallup

- What is the likelihood the Cowboys select 0 players that start in 2019 - ZERO

- Bigger impact: Juan Thornhill VS Jonathan Abram - Thornhil

- Christan Miller: Where would you draft him - 90

- How much would Dawson Knox play in 2019 - any body guess

Definitely.

- If you take a "follow the money" approach, who do you think would be the pick at 58
DE and CB are money positions and Quinn, Jones and Brown are free agents after the season.
Brian Burns or Jaylon Ferguson or L.J. Collier

- Whats the earliest you would draft a RB
I'm open to drafting one at #58 if a legit 1st round type talent falls for some reason.

LeSean McCoy was picked at about #53 in 2009.

Dalvin Cook was picked at #41 in 2017. I would have considered drafting him.
The Cowboys had pick #60; therefore didn't face that choice.
Also I had Awuzie (picked at #60) rated as a 1st round pick.

- Would a CB heavy draft surprise you
CB in the 3rd and 7th would not surprise me.
CB in the 2nd and 3rd would surprise me.

- Better prospect going into the draft: Michael Gallup VS Deebo Samuel
Gallup.

Probably similar long speed but Gallup has better burst and quickness in/out of breaks.

Gallup was a better route runner.

Deebo better on contested balls.

- What is the likelihood the Cowboys select 0 players that start in 2019
Very Low in regards to starting some games.
Possible in regards to being a 16 game starter.

- Bigger impact: Juan Thornhill VS Jonathan Abram
For 2019, similar amount of "impact) but for different reasons.
I'll give the edge to Thornhill because he's more developed against the pass which could result in more playing time early.

- Christan Miller: Where would you draft him
In the 4th, maybe 3rd.

He looks great in highlights but in full games there are a lot of ugly plays and he looks awkward at times.

- How much would Dawson Knox play in 2019
Rico played 146 snaps in 2018.

Schultz played 300 snaps in 2018.

Knox probably about 300.

Winovich has the good kind of crazy for a football player.

His burst/explosiveness is not great but he a 110% effort type player with enough athleticism.

- Is a DE in round 2 still a possibility

With Tank signing and trading for Quinn,DE went from the favorite to at least fifth on the pecking order. However, anything is possible. I can't shake the feeling that they either love Ferguson as a long term RE (which would make me wretch) or want to replace Tyrone Crawford with Zach Allen (which why is Tyrone Crawford's position so valuable that you're willing to use a second round pick to fill it?).

- If you take a "follow the money" approach, who do you think would be the pick at 58

I don't know what that means. My answer is purple.

- Whats the earliest you would draft a HB

I predict the Cowboys will take a runner between the 4th and 5th rounds; that's about the right time to get a quality backup.

- Would a CB heavy draft surprise you

Yes. It's one thing to draft a single CB and stash him as #5 on the depth chart, it's another to straight up push one of our quality corners out the door.

- Better prospect going into the draft: Michael Gallup VS Deebo Samuel

I want to say Gallup; more of a legit receiver than toy.

- What is the likelihood the Cowboys select 0 players that start in 2019

Unless our second rounder is a safety that beats out Jeff Heath, the probability is high.

- Bigger impact: Juan Thornhill VS Jonathan Abram

Abram.

- Christan Miller: Where would you draft him

I don't want to be married to this answer, but I'd be okay with him in the fourth. That being said, there'd probably be another edge I like more than him available and I'd be mad they passed over that player for him.

- How much would Dawson Knox play in 2019

Hard to say. I could see him as TE #2 playing off line like he did at Ole Miss. I could also see the coaching staff refuse to play him because they have Jarwin.

When you say " follow the money" you are usually talking about 1) Drafting the future replacement for someone who's contract is expiring or 2) Drafting the future replacement of someone under contract who can be cut in the future for savings

Probably a CB to replace Byron Jones or Zach Allen to replace Tyrone Crawford then.

- Is a DE in round 2 still a possibility

If he's BPA, you never know.

- If you take a "follow the money" approach, who do you think would be the pick at 58

A CB to replace Byron. The vibe I'm getting is that with all the big contracts we have to sign, Jones is going to be the odd man out.

- Whats the earliest you would draft a HB

Third round if my guy David Montgomery is there, other than that, just take whoever on the third day. My opinion is that backup RB is a low priority. You'll know it if the right guy is there, but if the value never shows up and you leave the draft empty handed, oh well. Go find some JAG on the scrap heap and give him a 1 year $1M-$2M contract before camp. Rod Smith carried about 3 times a game for 2.9 YPC last year - if you can find another back who can do that, your team didn't get any worse.

- Would a CB heavy draft surprise you

Greatly. Brown is as good as gone next year, and Jones might be too, so drafting a guy for 2020 wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. Now that being said, this team is ready to compete right now and our top 4 corners all kick ***. Adding more than 1 CB to a loaded position group would be bizarre.

- Better prospect going into the draft: Michael Gallup VS Deebo Samuel

Gallup.

- What is the likelihood the Cowboys select 0 players that start in 2019

I think we'll be able to get a starter with our second. Safety, TE, and DT are weak enough that the right 2nd rounder could get snaps immediately.

- Bigger impact: Juan Thornhill VS Jonathan Abram

The sky's the limit with Thornhill, but Abram is ready to run and hit on this defense from day 1.

- Christan Miller: Where would you draft him

Never watched his tape, no idea.

- How much would Dawson Knox play in 2019

I would say little to none. He's just not a good tight end, man. Good athlete, sure, but just a 100% project player IMO.

Very low chance IMO.

- If you take a "follow the money" approach, who do you think would be the pick at 58
Safety or CB. Safety is the bigger immediate need but long-term it's cheaper to find safety in FA than a corner.

- Whats the earliest you would draft a HB
3rd round

- Would a CB heavy draft surprise you
One is expected, two is plausible, three would be a surprise.

- Better prospect going into the draft: Michael Gallup VS Deebo Samuel
Tags touch, Deebo Samuel. He can do more.

- What is the likelihood the Cowboys select 0 players that start in 2019
25% chance. Regular starter more like 50% chance

- Bigger impact: Juan Thornhill VS Jonathan Abram
Abram. I feel more comfortable with our deep options. A box safety has bigger immediate impact on this team.

- Christan Miller: Where would you draft him
No. He's a SAM/LEO in this team which doesn't see enough snaps to take a 2-4th round guy.

- How much would Dawson Knox play in 2019
Not much, he's raw. But year 2 he'd prove a nice addition.

Zach Allen, the combination of having our first pick at the bottom of round 2 and all of the red flags on players for character or medical makes Allen seem like a "safe pick" very similar to the Zack Martin pick a few years ago nothing sexy but in a few years you're glad he's on the team. If you go back to that draft there were a lot of first round busts.

- If you take a "follow the money" approach, who do you think would be the pick at 58

Highest safety available probably Thornhill

- Whats the earliest you would draft a HB

Day 3

- Would a CB heavy draft surprise you

Yes, didn't we just do that. I hate that every year we get new defensive coaches we have remake the secondary to the type of players they like.

- Better prospect going into the draft: Michael Gallup VS Deebo Samuel

Gallup he stayed healthy in college and was one of the better route runners in the draft.

- What is the likelihood the Cowboys select 0 players that start in 2019

Good

- Bigger impact: Juan Thornhill VS Jonathan Abram

Thornhill, interception machine

- Christan Miller: Where would you draft him

wouldn't, couldn't stay healthy in college how would he in the pros

- How much would Dawson Knox play in 2019

not much, we tried the coaches didn't use him right value approach with that DE from Oklam

Ohhhh I like this!

- Is a DE in round 2 still a possibility

Yes, but not quite as much. I’d consider Winovich and my gut says the team will be considering Ferguson.

- If you take a "follow the money" approach, who do you think would be the pick at 58

I’m keeping this approach in mind, but would be hard pressed to steer away from a S or DT bc I’m about 99% sure someone solid will be available there.

- Whats the earliest you would draft a HB

5th

- Would a CB heavy draft surprise you

Yes, because it would be idiotic.

- Better prospect going into the draft: Michael Gallup VS Deebo Samuel

Gallup. More complete and more down the field ability.

- What is the likelihood the Cowboys select 0 players that start in 2019

Higher than most think. DT and even S can be rotational.

- Bigger impact: Juan Thornhill VS Jonathan Abram

Thornhill. His versatility will make it hard to take him off the field and he has better ball skills.

- Christan Miller: Where would you draft him

3rd

- How much would Dawson Knox play in 2019

Maybe 3rd most for our TEs
