-Antonio Calloway: Do you take him? And if so when?

- I just got struck by lightning. During this even I had one singular vision: We are taking a DE in the second round. Dont know who. If Im not ********ting you, who do you think that DE would be?

- What round in this draft would you say the cut off to get PROJECTED starters at these respective positions. Safety, WR, LB, OG

- Vita Vea: Transformative DL talent, just a guy who would take up space in the middle, or somewhere in between?

- What player do you predict will surprisingly be the first player picked at his position?

- Marcus Davenport is drafted at 19. Assuming we had we dont have an injuries on the DL, about how many snaps would he get in 2018

- Jessie Bates: Day 1 starter?

- We have a history of trading up in round 2. What player who could realistically fall out of the first would cause you to pick up the phones

I'm not a RKG stickler or anything, but I just can't get with Calloway. I'm over being burned, and he's got a flashing light over him that I just don't touch.

2nd round DE I could see being landry or hubbard

i don't have an answer for round cut off because i'm just routinely wrong in this regard

vita = transformative in general, and in our particular dire need of someone like him. it's the perfect convergence, WE NEED HIM

surprisingly first player picked at his position = josh allen

i've never been a snapcount guy.

jessie bates = day 1 starter, love him. love him especially fore us.

trading up in round 2 = will hernandez or LVE

1. Calloway - No. Never. Not even as a UDFA.

2. RD2 DE - Probably Arden Key unfortunately.

3. Safety - RD2 ; WR X - RD1, Z - RD3 ; LB - RD1 ; OG - RD3

4. Vea - Somewhere in between. Transformative means "takes over games" to me. I don't see that happening and I don't think there are more than three consistently transformative DTs in the NFL anyway. However, I do think he will affect the QB much more than most 1tech DTs and is therefore more than a space eater. He also enables more versatile scheme opportunities. I think he'll be in the Damon Harrison / Linval Joseph tier of DTs -- around pro bowl level -- but not Gerald McCoy level.

5. I guess dt-Taven Bryan getting drafted over Vea and Payne due to pass rush ability and intangibles.

6. I think he'd play 42.5% of defensive snaps. He'd be a rush specialist in year 1 and fill Mayowa's snaps along with some of Wilber's.

7. Bates - Contributor but not day 1 starter. Not even year 1 to me, but yes by year 2.

8. Courtland Sutton - I don't know that he'd be falling out of the first so much as he'd be falling out of 33 to 40 range.

- I would take Calloway as high as the 4th.

- Bates is highly overrated IMO. He's a soft corner type playing safety.

-Antonio Calloway: Do you take him? And if so when? I’d take a chance on most talent in the 4th round or later. Most picks that late don’t pan out, would rather take a chance on a guy with actual talent

- I just got struck by lightning. During this even I had one singular vision: We are taking a DE in the second round. Dont know who. If Im not bull****ting you, who do you think that DE would be? Weird question but my guess would be Josh Sweat or Duke Ejiofor

- What round in this draft would you say the cut off to get PROJECTED starters at these respective positions. Safety, WR, LB, OG 3rd for WR and G, 2nd for LB. S might actually be round 1. There’s only a few that could start, Bates is the only 1 that might make it to 50. Of course there are always exceptions but if you’re drafting a guy to pencil him in as a starter anything beyond round 3 is just crazy talk

- Vita Vea: Transformative DL talent, just a guy who would take up space in the middle, or somewhere in between? In between. He’s obviously huge and a good athlete for his size, but he also needs a lot of technique work people don’t want to talk about. Won’t be as easy to overwhelm NFL o lineman as it was in the PAC 12

- What player do you predict will surprisingly be the first player picked at his position? Tough question...if there’s a surprise it would probably be at OT.

- Marcus Davenport is drafted at 19. Assuming we had we dont have an injuries on the DL, about how many snaps would he get in 2018
Not going to throw out a # but I’ll say more than enough. We have no depth at DE

- Jessie Bates: Day 1 starter? For the cowboys? Yes.

- We have a history of trading up in round 2. What player who could realistically fall out of the first would cause you to pick up the phones
I could see LB Evans falling. Maybe a WR like Moore or Sutton as well. Interior o line like Daniels or Hernandez isn’t out of the question either

4th round
Josh Sweat
3rd
Just a space eater and maybe not even that
Josh Allen
No clue
Day 1 starter
Will Hernandez

He's almost as bad Calloway.......lol

oh snap. josh sweat, forgot about him. also why is no one higher on him? rarely see his name pop up

- Absolutely would take Callaway. Just not earlier than the 4th. He's worth the risk from the 4th round on.

- Sweat would be a DE I could see us taking in the 2nd. Arden Key too.

- Projected rounds? LB - 4th (because we have a clear need so someone drafted will start at some point), OG - 4th, S - 3rd, WR - 3rd

- Vea, somewhere in between but shading towards great rather than just solid.

- I think someone will take James before Fitzpatrick.

- Derek Barnett had 424 snaps last year. Charlton had 399. Davenport is more raw than both. I'll say he'd play between 350-400 snaps.

- Bates is not a Day 1 starter here because Marinelli tends to rely on vets early. It's how a guy like Nolan Carroll was slated to be a starter.

- A guy I'd pick up the phones in the 2nd? I have a few. Landry. Payne. Evans. Moore.

The issue I have with this thinking is that by most accounts, he's slated to be a 3rd or later round type guy.

If you take him with say your 4th or your comp 4th pick, are you really in a position to be burned? 4th round picks are total crap shoots. You could ignore Callaway and still have a high probability that your 4th round pick will bomb out.

So why not take a chance on a guy who has arguably 1st round/2nd round skills and has claimed he's changed his ways after just having his first child?

That's a risk I'll take all day long in the 4th or later.

i get it, and it's not necessarily a ROI issue so much as a perception/media/lockeroom issue. just hate the fall out.

He's almost as bad Calloway.......lol

I don't want either of them but Dallas seems to ignore warning signs if a guy can rush the QB.

Calloway's issues are known -- multiple marijuana instances + sexual assault + felony credit card fraud. Suspended from the team multiple times due to the previously mentioned issues. He consistently makes bad decisions and has had multiple run-ins with police.

If you know what Key's issues are, speak up. They're unknown from what I've read. He left the team during spring ball for "personal issues" and everyone assumes that's code for weed. He was rehabbing a shoulder injury, so I suppose it could have been pain pills instead. He wasn't suspended then or ever, so I don't know that habitual drug use can be assumed. Other than that, I'm not seeing a guy almost as bad.

Know what's funny ........Calloway says he tired of the media and fans making him out to be some kind criminal :lmao2:

I stand corrected on Key.......my comments were on just a couple bits I read off couple sites. Should have searched little deeper before commenting.

1.no.
2.Arden Key,Lsu(I wish it were Breeland Speaks,Ole Miss but JJ loves redemption stories).
3.S-3rd WR-5th OG-2nd LB-3rd
4.Vea(and Payne) are transformative.
5.Denzel Ward,CB before Fitzpatrick.
6.a lil more than Taco's rookie yr.....hard question.....DLaw,Taco in front of him.
7.yes.
8.Will Hernandez or Maurice Hurst if we dont go DT at 19.

Yes to Callaway in the 4th. That's a lot of talent to pass up if he is there in the 4th, especially if using a comp pick. That's where you take the flyer, not with your 2nd rounder.
