Those guys are usually smaller. I've seen those guys range from 5'9 to 6 foot.
Free safety, as Jones was, is often tasked with covering tight ends, who are all at least 6-4, Woods will have a hard time doing that...

Does Josh Jackson even want to become a Safety?

Sounds like a rumor, but the way these coaching staff is obsessed with position flex makes you wonder.

The only thing I will say about this is if this were 2016, I'd laugh and call them dumb.

But, and maybe I am naïve, with our new DBs coach, if he thinks Jackson can be a legit stud FS, I am on board.

Jones was asked to over safeties and he would still be asked to cover safeties. Earl Thomas is just as small if not smaller. Honey Badger is as well.

Not saying he can't/won't, just that a taller guy would be better at it...

I know it's not a popular idea but I'm all on board with Jackson.

If you can add a playmaker to your team, you do it.
