Looking at some recent mock drafts RB's Eddie Lacy and Giovani Bernard are being picked around 48, some have them going after 48. With that in mind and say we take Cooper/Warmack at 18 and come pick 48 both RB's are on the board along with Kawaan Short and Matt Elam, who would you pick?

Feel like I need more info. But with what is given..I'd definitely wouldn't pick up Elam or either RB. I'd pick up Short or a FS. I don't see why Short would be available in the second round 2 us though. I think we could get a decent DT in the 3rd.

He's another guy who's stock has been falling because he's failed to workout yet this combine season. Short's fallen to the 2nd in several mocks I've seen lately with Sly Williams replacing him in the 1st.

I do think he will go in the second just think he will go in the 14 spots ahead of us.

I'd need to see Lacey's Pro Day results before I could say one way or the other I think. I think that happens today.

However, because of the way FA is falling, there are a lot of backs available there still and there are backs that I actually think are better value later as well. I would rather see us do that.

i go DL or FS in that scenario

plenty of time to pick back up RB in rd 5-7 or UDFA

we could walk out of this draft with 3 starters (1 each at OL/DL/safety) if we play our cards right and dont reach

in fact, with the draft depth at OL, i would still go OL in rd 4 since there will be a real quality OL available there this year, someone who might start for us later this year

I go Elam all day. If the draft plays out that way we have filled our two biggest holes with guys I think will be very good - great players for years to come. In fact, if we manage Cooper in the first, I would even consider trading up for Elam in the second.

If the Cowboys don't sign a Safety in Free Agency, then they're going to be forced to take one in the top 2 rounds of the draft.

They can get a contributor at RB in rounds 3 or 4 and maybe later.

That's exactly how I see it. They might even be forced to trade up from their second rounder to secure Cyprien, if he's still there after day one. Waiting until round three drastically limits their options, I believe, and they won't like that situation.
