I feel we need to land a couple of these players to have a successful draft. Give me your thoughts. It seems a lot of people have given up on last years picks already which we shouldnt, the transition to NFL takes a couple years.

- Maurkice Pouncy
- Mike Iupati
- Brandon Spikes
- Jordan Shipley
- Rodger Saffold
- Terrance Cody
- Nate Allen
- Taylor Mays
- Vladimir Ducasse
- Micah Johnson

I feel if we walk away with 2-3 of these players we will be sitting pretty... any thoughts? I would give reasons for each pick but id rather explain to anyone who disagrees. Id really like to see micah johnson and pouncy.

If I were to ask you last year if the cowboys could land Mays, im sure you woulud be all smiles. I feel he did have a bad year, but I feel with proper coaching and being able to learn the system, he can shine as an NFL player. he is very athletic and I feel that his drop by not entering the draft last year will motivate him to prove his skeptics wrong. I am a believer that you cannot declare anyone a bust before they are drafted and attempt a shot at the NFL.

He has the tools to be great.... its whether proper coaching can transform him into an elite NFL player.

No I wouldn't have, I'd probably cry actually. He can't cover ANYBODY, and take away his speed at that size, and he's an UDFA. So you'd actually feel comfortable with him replacing Hamlin as the FS and being in a centerfield role? No way he's a S at the next level. Maybe a LB.

Not as a rookie. But I feel if he is groomed for a year he can be a weapon.... just my personal opinion. I dont know how his coaching was but I feel if he were coached with more responsibilities in man coverage he could do it. majority of college teams run zone coverages rather than man. I also feel that surrounded by talent he will be more effective.... just my personal opinion.

But looking at your argument, yes right not if you were to just place him as our starting SS, I would be worried.

Whats your thoughts on Nate Allen? I like him and wouldnt mind taking him.

I like Micah Johnson aswell, but you forgot the biggest sleeper in this draft excluding Matt Nichols. That being Jason Fox.

I did forget him and I like him a lot.... he and micah I wouldnt mind if the boys reached a little on.

Any news on Jason Williams. I was a little confused at the pick originally but looking at his ability and their reasoning of him being a project, I think the kid has potential.....

reach on Fox? He was projected as a first round prospect at one point I remember him being ranked as the second best Tackle after Okung and his health had him free falling. Its a steal in the 2nd round.

lol............every team needs a LB that that very well could be possibly the slowest of the 11 defensive players on the field at any given time.

Nate Allen IMO is an absolute stud. He's one of my favorite players this year. IMO theres not much dropoff from ET to Allen. I think he could step up and player year one, but Wade probably won't allow it to happen. But he's what you look for in a FS. If Jerry doesn't sign a guy like Atogwe and trades down, Allen IMO would be a guy that they really covet.

No, I wouldnt. He hasnt made any plays since he got there. He's been an overhyped player since day one, mainly because Pete Carroll told some media slobs "he's out fastest player"

And for the last time, there's a difference bettwen "track athletic" and "football athletic" He's runs fast in a straight line with shorts on, but when you watch the games he definitely doesnt look like a "fast" player.

Yeh I was unaware of his 4.99 speed. Though he did improve it to 4.84 on his pro day which is better but not elite and why he would be drafted in the 4th-5th round.

As for Fox by reaching I was referring to grabbing him at 27 or sliding back a few spots and taking him early 2nd which is earlier than projected, which I guess that early in the round isnt too much of a reach.

I also like Brandon Spikes a lot, perhaps in the second round. The kid is a straight up football player, seems to know the game well and always be involved.

Also, any word on Brewsters progress? That will most likely play a role in their decision making come the 22nd.

Fox is one of those players I see as people wondering why they went in the fourth round and gets labelled a "steal" because he has been over-rated for far too long.
