Draft Tek's Latest Mock (12/16/10)

If we trade down, I want us to trade down to the 20s and pick up Nate Solder. That way we can essentially transition to a zone blocking scheme. A former TE, Solder is one of the quickest lineman in this year's draft and will make for an awesome awesome value pick.

Dont really see what people's issue is with Carimi. We may well be hiring his offensive coordinator, and he's the dominant OL on college footballs most dominant OL.

Looks like he could easily walk in and start at RT from day one, and be a significant upgrade over Colombo.

Bunting stated, on an interview with Vela, that he thought Carimi was a RT. However, Bunting also stated that this guy would give Dallas better LT play than Free. I thought it was interesting, even though it's just one guy's opinion.

TNew has not lost a step- a fan should know that he has had a bad ankle since the first Giant game.

You are right. However, it will just go over their heads.

Mike Pouncy in round 3 would be a heist.

No way that happens....

He's a blue-chip guard prospect...A scout in Knoxville stated this.

Commanders and Dolphins were there.

You dont draft RTs at number 7, I bet Carimi is still around end of round 1 beginning of round 2. I do agree he is a huge upgrade at RT over Columbo.

We already have a project in McGee, why go with another project? If we were picking #1, I'd take Luck and cut my losses with McGee, but with some of these guys it's 6 in one hand, half a dozen in another, so I don't see the point

I get that but I just think some team is going to draft Ponder and coach that guy up and be shocked at what he turns into.

I have him as a 2nd rounder.

I dont think we'll be drafting at 7 to be quite honest.

I don't think so either.

Dallas is playing a couple of crappier teams than what they are.

yea but Tick they are talkin about movin him to RT

Marc Columbo has been a valiant warrior at RT, but is operating on one bad leg and can no longer protect the flank. Bring on the Big Bad Badger from Wisconsin and move him into the starting slot next to Leonard "Big" Davis and see if the power side of the OL can generate holes for the running game. Yes, there are needs in the defensive backfield but with the 2 top CB's (Amukamara and Peterson) gone, this is a smart pick (I hope I can say this come Draft Day!)

I absolutely love Carimi, but like you said I fully expect him to be moved to RT, so it begs the question: why would you draft a RT at #7-8? I still think you can get a premier player at another position at that range.

If Dallas chooses to drop down into the mid to late teens and take Carimi I'd be stoked.

Bowers looks so dumb with that hair.

I'll be so glad when braids/dreadlocks on men go out of style. I'll be glad when the shaggy dog hair look goes out of style too.

lol, you are waiting for dreads to go out of style? Good luck.

Dreads have been around way longer than dudes have been chasing each other around with helmet on.

I looked at their mock.

The Cardinals took my guy Sherrod at 6. They need a QB, so I say that they take look good at Mallet and Newton.

However, he's gone here. I really would like to have the Wisconsin OT. In fact, I wish that I could get Sherrod and Carimi and bookend them for a decade.

Need says take Carimi. He's probably in the 16-20 range now. I could see Dallas taking him just outside the top 10.

However, Dallas picks at 7 here.

This is a no contest.

1. A.J. Green WR Georgia Blue-Chip player

2. Stefen Wisniewski C Penn State

3. Mike Pouncy OG/C Florida

That would be great.

Yes..

I'm not passing on A.J. Green. It would be stupid.

I didn't get my OT, but I've got Leonard Davis' replacement in round 3. Pouncy will probably go much higher. I've found Andre Gurode's replacement in round 2. Davis is cut and Gurode stays, but the Penn State center will be prepped to play in 2011. Roy Williams should be let go, anyway. However, now there is no stupid excuse.

Bryant, Austin, Green, Witten, Felix...

Come get some...:)

A.J. Green?........... Are trading Roy W. and Austin in that scenario for another 1st round pick?

I would let Roy Williams go. IMO, Williams should go, anyway. Small market teams, who do well by the way, don't have multi-million dollar "insurance policies" at WR, especially when the player is the fourth leading receiver on the team.

Green is an acrobat who can really run and catch the football. He's a blue-chip player. He's a weapon. He catches the football over the middle well, too. Green would make Bryant and Austin bring their A games every week.

The Vikings drafted Randy Moss when they already had Chris Carter and Jake Reed.

Green slips in this mock, and I'm not hesitating. If teams start drafting on need, he could slip some.

Austin's contract would be hard to move, and no one is taking Williams' contract for sure. Honestly, I was surprised Jerry Jones paid Austin so fast. I think Austin is really good, and I wouldn't try to move him if Green ended up in my basket. It's a good thing, too. That contract is huge.
