What if we trade some future picks for this guy? I believe new England honestly believes Brady has atleast 5 years left.. Garoppolo broke all of Romos records at Eastern Illinois and his release is crazy fast not to mention he's been coached up in new England the past couple years.

2nd this year and 3rd next? All I'd be comfortable with. Doubt NE gives him away for that.

Still somewhat unproven but soon not carrying the advantage of a 2nd round rookie deal?
I don't know...

Id be OK with that if we trade down. I could see new England making that trade tho we have pick 33 in the 2nd round and that would give them 3 2nd round picks , they could easily move up in the first and get a great player and could later on draft a Qb. Remember now they really believe Brady has another 5 years in him. Hell Brady said himself he wants to play till he's 45

Cheaper but here is the issue. Assuming romo can play two years, then you have to sign him before he ever plays. Cheaper today, higher and riskier tomorrow
The advantage of drafting a guy in the first is he would have two extra years under his rookie deal and the 5th year option which is cheap compared to QB free agent deals

Then there's the whole why would NE trade him without another QB on the roster argument. Do you think they didn't see the fiasco in Dallas last year? Bill Belichick isn't about to go through the same circus at the position if Brady goes down.

Also, a second and a third for him? Not a chance in hell. I'd give a third for Glennon way before I give two top 100 picks for Garappolo.

My 1st 2 thoughts:

1) What's so great about him anyways?
2) Brady will be suspended for the 1st 4 games this season so NE needs the kid more now than ever.

Pats seem to at least somewhat like him. That's not a bad sign. He just hasn't had a lot of game time but he has learned from the best.

I haven't seen anything on the field to justify on investing a high draft pick on this kid.. Since Brady is benched for 4 games now, maybe he can show the world something other than holding a clipboard.

It's one of those things where it sounds good on paper, but if NE is actually willing to go through it it, it should scare you.

If he's a franchise guy, they're not trading him. If they do, you know one of the best FO in the league doesn't think he's a franchise guy.

Right, NE is going to need a quarterback soon.
