Draft week buzz

Per Fowler:

"
In talking to teams today, wouldn't surprise to see four OTs go in first 15-17 picks.

Francis Mauigoa, Spencer Fano are consensus. Monroe Freeling, Kadyn Proctor have worked their way into conversation -- feet, length, prototype LT and SEC pedigree.

NFC exec: 'Would have said no on Freeling in November but I can see it now. He fits the mold.'

AFC exec on Proctor: 'He's the go-higher-than-you-think guy for me.'

Seahawks GM John Schneider told reporters this week that, with Seattle entering this draft with only four picks, he would like to trade back from the team’s No. 32 selection in the first round to accumulate more picks. The Seahawks are hardly the only team near the end of the first round willing to move back; others are as well.

That would sorta work . The fourth would be 109 and to make it match nearly exact we might need to give up #180

If we want to trade out of 12, the Chiefs make a good partner for that as well, assuming they actually have someone they are hot for at #9 and #12. Their first pick, whenever it is, is likely going to be o-line

Dallas: #12 (1,200) and #180 (19)
For
KC: #29 (640), #40 (500), and #109 (76)

That way we get someone like Faulk at #20, Hood at #29 and Rodriguez at #40

Pretty sweet imo

Then take BPA at #109
Sorry but that is not the trade they're talking about.
They're suggesting 9, 29 and 4th for 12 and 20.

If we're looking at Rodriguez or Chris Johnson with our second first-rounder, I like the value much better at 29. Gimme Bain and Rodriguez or Styles and Malachi Lawrence and I'll be happy. (Save the corner for the third round).

Trading up when the 31 real GMs are trying to trade down would totally be Jerry

Let’s hope this rumor is true

I think 12 & 20 for 9 & 29 would be an almost perfect move for Dallas. There should be one of the blue chip guys still there at 9 and the players that I like at the bottom of the first or top of the second should be there.

Those 3 spots up make a huge difference in the pick (for a team with the Cowboys needs), and frankly, dropping from 20 to 29 doesn’t change much (for who I want the team to draft).

9 should be one of Downs, Delane, or Styles (give me Downs or Delane).

29 could be Rodriguez, Scott, Lawrence, Howell, or Allen.

I agree. There are probably 15-20 players I like in the second that would be ideal at 29.

according to Presser they would like to pick up day 2 picks, this tracks for my idea of trading down from 20 and getting a 3rd RD pick.

Is a Pickens for Jordyn Brooks straight up trade out of the question if we go WR at 12 tomorrow

From strictly a numbers standpoint, I think it would be highly unlikely.

Miami has a ton of dead money this year and with Brooks ~11M cap hit, they would still need to clear another ~16M to absorb Pickens tag. At this point, I don’t think they even have enough to sign their rookies.

Yeah I think the first round is going to look a good bit differently than all the mocks we’ve been seeing… which is not at all surprising.
Happens every year. You'll hear the word "reach" spammed on this website in a little over 24 hours from now
