This draft sucks. No way Cody goes round 1, nor do we draft a kicker in this years draft.

What's it going to be then, eh?

when do you expect fox to go? i've seen him slated to go anywhere from indy in the first down to the 6th round in some mocks i've found. everything i've read about him sounds promising. do you expect him to still be there in the 3rd when we pick?

There is no way, in my opinion, Dallas takes a DT in Round 1. He would have basically no chance to start ahead of Rat, and the 'Boys would be better suited taking a player who can contribute right away.

I also don't see Dallas taking a kicker, as I think they will sign one in free agency.

I think he will go anywhere from 2nd to 3rd round due to his knee injury and irregular heartbeat. You just dont take chances on a player with an injury etc in the first round.

Only thing why he may go high in 2nd round, if some teams take offensive linemen high in first round like they did last 2 years, then that will push the lower round offensive linemen up higher;

Example, pittsburgh, new england, green bay, arizona, 49ers all need offensive linemen like the Commanders and rams do. That will push the linemen up higher, if they fall early in the draft.

Yes he might be there when we draft in 3rd round, but i dont see him lasting past the 3rd round. Most likely though he goes in 2nd round.

Most of the good mock drafts i have seen he goes from 2nd to 3rd round.

They may take a DT or DT/DE in Jared Odrick, DT, Penn State, 6-05 300, 5.09
if he is there, why? Because the cowboys might lose spears, and bowen the next year in 2011. You have to be prepared. Granted we have more needs at safety and offensive linemen.

I think they will take a kicker in the 6th or 7th round, remember now they took folk in the 6th round.

but matt mosley said what he heard from the cowboys orginazation is that the cowboys were looking at safety and offensive linemen real highly.

About the first 3 players the cowboys looked at were 2 OTs one of them being Jason Fox and trent willliams OT along with dez bryant. I think bryant will fall due to his slow speed in the 40 and his suspension. Now before you get all hot and heavy saying that dez is fast, I live in Lufkin Texas and I know dez since he is from here. Yet, Dez is more like Michael Irvin in ability speed wise too, like running the 40 in 4.54.

Michael Irvin had about the same speed and he fell to the 18th pick, and remember jerry rice who didnt have fast speed but on the football field, he fell in the 16th slot.

If dez falls, the cowboys might trade up to get him, remember jerry loved michael irvin when he was here.

I think that the cowboys will draft an offensive linemen, if one isnt there when they draft 27th, they will trade down, then get 2 good players in the 2nd round, they are there, you just have to do your homework.

You have to read between the lines, and see and hear who the cowboys are interested in and have in for a visit. The last few years, most of the top players the cowboys drafted have been in for a visit.

You have to hit on your first round draft picks, along with your 2nds.

Thats how your team is built.

thanks for that. from what i've read would like him in the third if he is still there. don't really get to see college football over here so i pretty much rely on articles i find online, or more often that you provide links to, for draft info.

Jason Fox
T, Miami (FL)
War Room analysis
Strengths: Is a good athlete with quick footwork. Shows good technique. Moves well laterally. Kicks off the snap with ease to handle speed rushers. Shows good with hand placement. Is a good blocker in the open field, maintaining a good knee bend and flexibility. Reaches linebackers on the second level with ease. Handles double-moves well.

Weaknesses: Lacks bulk and strength. Struggles as a power blocker at the point of attack; is more of a position blocker in the running game. Struggles to roll his hips and explode into defenders. Can be driven back into the quarterback by bull rushers.

Bottom line: Fox, a former tight end who grew out of the position, is a good athlete but not an overpowering blocker. He would fit best in a zone-blocking scheme. He must add strength and bulk but is still learning the position and has a solid upside. He might need a year or so on the practice squad before being ready to play in the NFL.
Height: 6-5 Weight: 299
40-yard dash: 5.24

I like Fox, Ducasse and Edwin Veldheer, Hillsdale, I am intrigued by campbell from maryland as OTs.

have to say that is one of the worst dallas mocks i've ever seen for 2010. Cody is not a first rounder. I'd take Dan Williams over him. I'd also take Odrick before him not to mention McCoy and Suh. Didn't Fox have knee surgeries already? I don't really think he has any hope of playing LT, at least not for us. He's defnitely not worth our second.
Doubt we'll take another kicker...think you'll see Stover in here before that happens. As for the other picks...there will be much better available.
