I like Thomas and Veldheer but the rest of that draft is disgusting since there is no Fox. No Fox no r2ahappy

I'd love the Thomas pick, but I don't like any other round honestly. Veldheer would be a reach in the 2nd round and I see us targeting interior linemen rather than the tackle position.

I liked the first two picks.

The rest is trash.

I like the Veldheer pick, but only if Iupati is no longer on the board.

I don't hate that draft, but I feel certain that if Mike Iupati is still on the board at pick 27, he's their pick...

And as a result, they wouldn't go Veldheer in the second round... instead, I feel confident that the pick would be Dexter McCluster... Lamarr Houston might be in play here, too...

Having drafted a WR already, they probably wouldn't go for Mitchell in the third (though I know they like him), so I figure they'd look at Mitch Petrus... now, if they went for Houston in the second, then Mitchell would be a good likely pick...

In the fourth, if Dorin Dickerson or Garrett Graham are indeed still on the board, I'd expect that they'd get the call ahead of Arthur Jones... or if they didn't grab Petrus in the third, they might reach a little for Marshall Newhouse (especially if they agree that he might be tried at center)...

As a result of the first four rounds, I wouldn't see them drafting Chris Scott in the sixth (though I like him), so one of the linebackers they still have on the board-- Roddrick Muckelroy, Arthur Moats or Danny Batten... the Boys have shown some interest in Muckelroy and Batten...

So, if the draft order fell something close to DraftTek's projections, my dream draft would be:

1) Mike Iupati, OG/OT, Idaho
2) Dexter McCluster, WR/KT, Mississippi
3) Mitch Petrus, OG, Arkansas
4) Dorin Dickerson, TE/FB/H-back, Pitt
6) Roddrick Muckelroy, OLB/ILB, Texas
7) Will Barker, OT, Virginia

The only problem with this draft is it doesn't include a safety...

Mine would be this silverbear; First, let me say this is the best draft possibly in 20 years loaded with talent. So, you load up with such players in draft. Kinda like the 49ers did in 80s when they traded down, got stud players in 2nd to 5th rounds.

With Earl Thomas, Iupati, (RB-Matthews -Chargers), Cody, Tate still there we either make a trade with the Jets or Vikings to take Iupati, get a 5th & 7th
1. Mike Iupati OG (Possible ROT situations)
We get another offer from a team 5 slots behind us, get their 4th & 7th to move down 5 slots in 2nd round.
2. Dexter McCluster WR in slot, RB, KR, PR
3. Jason Fox OT Miami
4. Dorin Dickerson TE/FB/WR Pittsburgh
4. Brandon Spikes MLB Florida
We get a call from a team, Dolphins and trade Deon Anderson with Proctor for their 5th and 7th.
We use one of our 7th rounders to move up, take Joseph
5. Linval Joseph DT/NT East Carolina
5. We trade this pick for a future 4th
6. Marshall Newhouse OG possible C TCU
7. Devin Ross CB Arizona
7. Kelton Tindal WR Newberry 4.26 in 40
7. We use this pick to move up in 4th to take Spikes

FA J'Marcus Webb OT West Tx A&M
FA Tyler Eastman OT Maine
We should be able to get one of these big OT's in free agency above
FA Eric Cook C New Mexico
FA K Leigh Tiffin or Hunter Lawrence
FA Pat Simonds, WR, Colgate; 6-5.5, 225; 4.55
FA Cory Greenwood, LB, Concordia (Canada); 6-2, 236; 4.50

Yeah, I know 9 draft picks, but jerry jones did say he sees 11 players making this team.

I much prefer your version.

And then I could see the team making a move for Atogwe if they didn't draft a safety.

They'd almost have to make a play for some free agent safety...

I have a hunch that Atogwe is playing a game with the Rams, that he'll wait until after June 1st and thus become an unrestricted free agent... at which point the Cowboys (or any other team) can sign him without giving the Rams the chance to match...

I just think he'd like to get away from all the losing, so he'll wait until the Rams don't have the option to match... so if the Boys sign OJ, it might not be until some time in June...

That's exactly how I see it as well.

Although the Cowboys would be putting their "eggs" in Atogwe's "basket" so to speak at that point.

I mean once the draft is over and you didn't get your safety, Atogwe and his agent will have a lot more leverage in negotiations.

Wondering out loud if Hamlin has any type of bonus coming this year?

I like the first four picks, but I would change it up a bit. I trade out of the 2nd and into the early 3rd, adding a 5th.

1 - FS Thomas
3 - OT Veldheer
3 - DE Houston
4 - DT Joseph
5 - G/T Newhouse
6 - SS Rolle
7 - C/G Cook

This draft helps to solidify the major areas of need on our team...OL, S, and DL. You dont win many games unless you win the trenches, and I definitely feel the 3 OL and the 2 DL in my draft would go a long way to helping us own the trenches. Thomas is a ballhawking playmaker that we desperately need. Rolle is quite cerebral and could potentially be our defensive QB.

As far as UDFAs....on the defensive side I want to go for CBs Walter McFadden and Crezdon Butler, FS Eddie Hicks, and LB Tim Knicky.

BOO and the pick in bold....give me Walter McFadden or Crezdon Butler instead.

Also, not one safety in the entire draft or UDFA.....at least you could have put FS Eddie Hicks in as a UDFA.
