Drafting a Receiver

With 4 Juniors already declaring for the draft, this upcoming WR class is starting to look like a deep one. It's not our most pressing need obviously, but I think we'll end up drafting one somewhere between the 3rd-6th round.

I wouldn't take one in the first 4 rounds unless there was an absolute steal on the board. I'd rather focus on the trenches if there is value when we are on the clock.

We already have Harris and Beasley that can start stepping up, even when Austin is injured.

Sign a UDFA or a cheap FA instead of wasting a draft pick on a WR.

only wr I would want is a 5'9 to 6'0 quick and fast wr that is a threat to take it to the house like wallace, desean or percy. Any of those guys available in the this draft? Not in the first or second round. Unless we are planning on getting rid of miles austin which I doubt.

Markus Wheaton might be obtainable in the 3rd, although I feel like he is bound to rise unless a lot more Juniors decide to come out early. He's approximately 6'0, good concentration through the catch and pretty good route running. If not for his slight stature he'd be getting much more attention. I'm a fan the Packer model -- draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round at least every other year whether you think you need one or not.

It's a passing league and you can never have enough WRs.

I see a skill guy in the first 3 rounds if they draft their board. Miles Austin is getting older, has a high price tag, and is nicked up alot. I'm in favor of drafting the board. It has brought Lee, Carter and Murray the last few years.

Has been compared to Mike Wallace. Team could use a guy with scarry deep speed.

I think we need another big receiver to play on the outside. We already have 3 slot receivers on the team in Harris, Beasly, and Austin(He plays best in the slot).

We have a lot of other positions we need other than a WR. I would very disappointed if we drafted one before the 5th round, but knowing JERRAH we will probably trade our 1st 2 picks for Tavon Austin.

Intriguing talent but how bad of a guy do you have to be as a high profile talent to get kicked out of an SEC school that isnt Vanderbilt? I thought short of committing murder it was almost impossible for an SEC football player to get kicked out of school.
