After much research, debate, thought, watching lots of good, not so good tape, I've come up with a tried and true way to mask holes on the team without risking the farm. A cheat code if you will. Draft Jeanty if he's there at 12. Solidify the offense, make it run heavy or like the 2014 team with Murray. Keep our not so great defense off the field. The best defense is a great ball controlling offense. By doing this, we don't expose the defense too much. There is no other player in this draft like Jeanty ...MAYBE Travis Hunter is the one exception. Both guys are cheat codes to rebuilding, jerrymandering (pun intended) lol..a team. On the cheap as well. We can get better just like that. Jeanty isn't getting nearly enough love. He is generational in my opinion. My eyes have been opened. Give me your thoughts guys.

I would draft to make the D lines better.
When great Cowboy teams are there - the Defense line could dominate and rush the passer.
Leads to more sacks and interceptions.

Sorry, brother. I like Jeanty, but there are lots of very good RBs who will be available on Day 2.

The Cowboys should trade down into the early 20s while picking up either an extra late 2nd rounder or a 3rd and a 4th round picks. Then use that early 20s 1st round pick on monster DT Derrick Harmon who would anchor and solidify our D-line into an aggressive and havoc creating defensive front for years to come (imagine from left to right: Micah Parsons, Osa Odighizuwa, Derrick Harmon and Sam Williams). Monster D-line that could create havoc with only these front 4, thus allowing our 3 LBs to roam and create more damage against our opponents.

Ding ding ding.

Rewatch what Philly DL did to Mahomes in the super bowl.

This is true in theory but Philly has a dominant defense, not just talent-wise but probably the game's best defensive coordinator. We are nowhere near their talent level. I think OP is suggesting the quickest path to contending w/o a full rebuild.

I actually see what he's saying........Jeanty or a top RB can make our offense dominant ( see 2014 or 2016 ) and take pressure off the defense with lesser talent.

Remember Jimmy would say if you win at least 2 of 3 phases ( offense, defense or special team ) you probably win the game.

At this point we should just be adding on as much talent as possible seeing as we’re in a borderline rebuild.

There is not cheating code.

I agree with you but i think if Jeanty or Tet are there at 12, they will be the pick

All this talk about 179 lb Travis Hunter. I get it; he'll be good. But how good, and how much risk, for a top 3 pick like it's being suggested?

Am I missing something?
