Drafting WR in the first round is a bad idea.

Yes they do we have some who make plays that is not an area we lack in, I have seen him so you can stop saying watch the tape of him. He is a very good WR but there is only 1 ball and weapons we don't lack, foundation the very thing that allows you to get the most out of the weapons you have that is where we lack.

If you recall in the 90's Irvin and Harper were great together as a WR tandem, so you don't have to have a super fast WR on the field. Last year was a great year for foundation a center, before that a OT, but this year if Evans is there you take him, too good to pass up.

yes I do I also recall when Jimmy rebuilt this team we were not taking a ton of skill players. Many of his selection were defensive players. We have Dez and Williams again a kid who lead the nation in rec yards we have to very good WR. I like Evans I also like to see my QB have a pocket, I also like seeing my defense hitting people behind the line of scrimmage and getting after the QB. Harper by the way was a 4.42

If you would like to know how far a team can go on offense look no further than this year -Denver. If you don't think their defense sucked, please recall when the Cowboys played Denver and scored 49 points. A great offense will take you far, just ask Peyton. As to your other point of Harper 4.42 is a big difference than the 4.34 your were talking about in your other post. Harper was not a track star just a darn good football player.

yes we scored on them what we could not do is stop them. Putting the points up was not the problem actually stopping the other team was the problem. and Yes Haper was a track guy at Tenn He anchored the University of Tennessee 4x100 and 4x400 metres.

At Frostproof High School, Harper was an outstanding football player, earning USA Today high school All-American honors as a senior in 1986. He also excelled in track and field, where he at one time held the Florida High School high jump record and won two state Class A high jumping titles, as well as basketball where he averaged 23 points and 10 rebounds per game.

He went onto the University of Tennessee, where he practiced American football and track and field.

He continued to excel in track and field, capturing the 1989 Southeastern Conference indoor high jump championship with a jump of 7ft 2½in. He also anchored the University of Tennessee 4x100 and 4x400 metres relays.

Well if putting up the points was no problem, then you prove my point, a team with a great offense and suspect defense(Denver) could go all the way to the Super Bowl. THANK YOU!!!!!! As far as your point on Harper being a track star, a lot of football players are on college track teams. Deion was super fast ,Harper was just fast.

problem is our defense was not suspect it was lousy it was a franchise low. I never said Harper was the fastest player to play the game he had very good deep speed that is what scouts saw in him as well a guy who ran a sub 4.5 As I said Evans is good problem is he is not going to fix what is wrong with this team I would rather trade down and get player who can actually help this team not yet another WR or TE but guys who can protect and open holes for the offense or guys who can make the plays behind the line and get after the QB.

We didn't stop them but they didn't stop us either did they? Not until Romo made a very poor pass in a tie game with 2 minutes left. A strong offense can carry a team very far in the NFL these days. Our defense was horrendous last year but our offense wasn't great either. When your team is literally years away from going anywhere, you need to take BPA.. I don't think there is a chance in hell Evans drops to us... but if he was there, I wouldn't be upset if we took him. He is a game changing WR and he is very young. With his height and skill set, he would be a nightmare for secondaries lined up opposite of Dez.

Williams as a rookie proved he could do the job Dallas did not draft him to sit on the bench. Evans is very good. once in a life time WR NO, he has fault in his game he is not a great rout runner even scouting reports talk of this. He is big and has good hands and yes I think he will be a good player but he does not do one thing to fix our problems

You said you thought the Cowboys needed a 4.34 guy, you started talking about Harper being a track guy(high and long jump is not sprinting), as someone pointed out earlier in this tread one pick is not going to solve the Cowboys problems. With that being said why not if he is there, pick Evans. He is a player who can make the club better. Don't just pick a lesser player so you can say you filled a need.

4.3 was used because of Sammy Watkins another guy looked as a top prospect put up that kind of speed. So if I was going to add a WR to the team I would do so with someone who brings something different to the table. I am not as enmored with Evans as you are. I think he is good I don't think he is the best WR in this draft and I don't think he does anything to turn things around in Dallas.

I'm pretty certain he thinks we have a chance to go deep in the playoffs or to the super bowl if we just get one or 2 more guys on defense. If he truly realized this team was years away from going anywhere, then he would understand you should take BPA.. and that would more than likely be Evans if he dropped that far. He is a game changing WR. He and Dez opposite of each other with Williams in the slot would be extremely hard to stop.

Vision is we have very good WR we don't need to use yet another top pick to get one. How about TE why not get another TE use the 16th pick for one? Yeah that is vision and that solves a problem. lol

Thank you, I am glad you pointed this out. Get the good player and then get help on defense from other picks and drafts. Well said indeed, sir.

No vision is looking past the end of your nose to see what's good for the long term.

What do you consider "turning things around in Dallas"? We are about to have another bad year here, maybe really bad. We are starting to rebuild instead of kicking the can down the road like we have done for.. well.. forever. You have to start thinking 2 to 3+ years out before our team has a chance to really compete and make a run at a super bowl. Not what we need right this second. Be honest with yourself, Dallas is not going anywhere this year. If Evans drops to 16 (Which won't happen), you take him, if not, then go BPA and hopefully that is Donald.
