I remember while watching the Cowboys play against Megatron and Brandon Marshall that if only they had a 5'7 Safety, that everything would be OK.

Sounds like he moved to corner last year for NFL draft reasons. I don't like the pick either way now that I know how tall he is.

Lyerla would be a bargain there if he could stay away from the nose candy.

I actually really like Joyner. I really like the way he plays--his tenacity, athleticism and attitude. Give me Jernigan and Joyner and I will be wearing war paint on Sundays.

What I don't like is Nix. I think he is predominately a space eater, and that is nice, but we need athletic, versatile linemen with burst. I am also totally over taking people who slide due to injuries. It has not worked out well for us in recent drafts. Those players have tended to stay injured.

Oh and I don't like QB in the fourth when he will be buried at third on the depth chart for at least the next season. That said, I know nothing about this kid.

If the draft fell that way, I would take Jean-Baptiste in the fourth over the QB.

Would feel the same way but I have heard and seen a few things about the kid, bet it might sway you as well. He broke all of Romo's records by the way.

I was on board with taking a QB in the fourth a few weeks ago, but as I start looking at the draft more, we could really set ourselves up on defense and among both lines if we just skip offensive skill positions for one year.

I don't know about a small corner either. I suppose you could put him in the slot and move Scandrick to the outside. And he could be OScans replacement and our leverage.

Yeah I don't like Joyner. Just too small to play safety and I'm not about to use a 2nd round pick on a slot corner. Replace Joyner with Jimmie Ward and I wouldn't hate that draft

Chris Burnette G Georgia would be my only pick

because he would fit the Zone blocking scheme

If he's 5'7" at the combine he'll drop but if he is 5'8+ he is a very similar athlete to Tyrann Mathieu minus the drug issues.

Love this mock BTW.

a 4th on a QB would be the pick I'd question most.
gotta think there's someone who can actually help on the field in round 4.

I'm one of the few that thinks Louis Nix could play in this defense too. To get to the Super Bowl your going to have to go through Seattle, a running team, San Fran a running team, Carolina, a running team, Philly a running team. Man I'm tired of teams averageing 6 plus yrds on first down against us.

and minus the college production. Joyner was good, but Mathieu was incredible for LSU. Similar size maybe, but not the same player.

I like the mock because it has us going DT and Safety in the first 2 rounds. But I dont like the players.

Not big on Nix at DT, are a few other guys i'd rather have at that spot. Joyner is just to small to be a starting safety. We just witnessed a team winning the Super Bowl with a 6'4" safety, why would be draft a 5'7" one?

I'd be all for drafting a developmental QB like Garoppolo, Aaron Murray, Stephen Morris.
Lyerla in the 7th would be a steal, even with the drug issues.

Earl Thomas is 5'10". Just throwing that out there.

Joyner's stock is going to be completely tied to the combine. If he comes out and puts up ridiculous numbers, he will go in the second round. If he comes out and times slow and doesn't lift or jump well, he is going to plummet.

BPA In each round accoridng to this mock IMO.. Obviously this team has needs and you can never simply go with BPA but thought it was interesting because this would be a great draft if we didn't have so many glaring needs

Round 1: Mike Evans WR Texas A&M
Round 2: Calvin Pryor SS Louisville
Round 3: Will Sutton DT Arizona State
Round 4: Telvin Smith OLB Florida State
Round 5: Jalen Saunders WR Oklahoma
Round 7: Aaron Colvin CB Oklahoma

Yes he is, but Earl Thomas is an amazing athlete. A once in a decade type talent in my opinion.

Plus there is a huge difference between 5'7" and 5'10".

I'm not saying Joyner wont be decent, or that he shouldnt be drafted high. I'm saying he wont be good for this team, and what we need.

I get what you're saying and didn't really mean to compare, was just stating.

Personally, I disagree with you. I think he is exactly what this team needs. He is an exceptionally gifted FOOTBALL PLAYER who goes whistle to whistle. Maybe not early, and maybe not as a starter, but he is a blue print for exactly what this team needs sans the height issue.
