I know there were a few fans of the first game.

It's released and there is a demo too it seems.

I have the first one and while it was cool, there was a TON of dialog to the game that slowed the game play down quite a bit. Not sure if I liked the game or didn't like the game because of that. I think I definitely prefer Oblivion to Dragon Age.

I'll get it, but spent my money on Fight Night Champion. Gotta wait for my next paycheck

My amazon preorder will be there when I get home tonight. I'm very excited that they decided to use the mass effect dialogue wheel instead of the first game's throwback dialogue system.

As for the first one having a ton of dialogue, that is just a Bioware RPG. They're like the polar opposite of Bethesda's games like Oblivion. Not open world at all, and massive story and dialogue. I personally love both of those ends of the spectrum.

Lucky for me Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 come out the same month this year. =)

Did not care for the DA2 demo. Too consolized for my taste, suckier interface, and lots of hopping about for no real reason.

Not going to pick it up til it's real cheap, probably.

Of course, I didn't care for Oblivion either: Massively overhyped, it did not deliver on all the swell things it promised. Morrowind was on my computer for 3 years straight: Oblivion was off in two months, and that was only because I was stubborn.

Both Bethesda and Bioware have been generally declining in quality, and they are no longer first day buys for me. Well, maybe Mass Effect 3. :)

Though maybe I am just getting more curmudgeonly....:

This will be a great year for video games, completely forgot ME3.

I enjoyed the first game. I'll probably get this in a month or so.

Have u seen dead island?

It looks pretty good and comes out the same month IIRC

Video games are my guilty pleasure.

I'm currently having a blast playing through Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Next up in the queue is Killzone 3.

Speaking of games, anyone know where I can get the best value for my copy of Gran Turismo 5? There are just far too many games in my backlog to justify letting this one sit on my shelf.

I was going to get it but I put the funds towards ordering a new Nintendo 3DS for my son.

:laugh2: Yeah, that one is pretty high on my son's list as well!

Is your character still mute?

One thing I've grown to hate about RPG's since they introduced voice acting for NPC's is when EVERYONE talks but you.

Bioware created a new paradigm in RPGs with Mass Effect, and that was having your main character fully voiced and active in the cutscenes. They used the same system in DA2, and it's also going to be in the upcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.

If you haven't played Mass Effect 1 and 2, and you like RPGs at all, do so.
