Last year, everybody was laughing at Dallas for not signing Murray, then signing washed-up McFadden and thinking Randle could start with Dunbar playing third downs. Christian Michael and Robert Turbin were needed along the way.

One year later....

Dallas drafted Zeke Elliott, signed Alfred Morris, still has 1,000-hard rusher McFadden and Dunbar, and added promising rookie Jackson for good measure.

From major question mark to most solid unit in the NFL.

What a difference a year makes.

I personally love it and ensures we will continue to control the clock, play smash mouth football, and take pressure off Romo & Prescott(if needed). Funny thing is, the casual fan cried about how we didn't do enough last year, now the same people are saying we did too much at RB and could of drafted someone on defense. Truth is.. If the FO played it perfectly. The offense looks potent, the Secondary is shaping up nicely, DT's are solid and respectable.. LBs & DE are the only question marks. At some point you have to trust people and make decisions based on that. If R.McClain, Gregory, and Lawrence wouldn't have betrayed the Cowboy Nation, our Boys would be sitting real nice right about now..but instead, Lawrence is the only guy that seems remorseful for his suspension and out to prove he's a player. The other two? Not so much.

There is some talk that we could change the paradigm of NFL thinking if we are gong to be as good as we think we will be. It's a copy-cat league and if we can reproduce or better yet, out produce 2014, it provides a blueprint for teams to implement a way to protect young quarterbacks and put them in favorable passing situations while still having an effective offense.

Of course, it will be hard to duplicate our offensive line, our quarterback and our RB's, but a pass happy league might evolve into a "little more" run-happy league.

I'm loving how stacked we are at rb but it all starts with the guys up front. They'll make these guys even better

We have a real chance to be the most dominant offense in the NFL this year .. Keep Romo healthy and protect the football

Hey man - just wanted to say that is a great picture and wonderful tribute to your dad. I have a brick that you are probably standing on right below Tom's statue. For me, it's like winning the lottery to get such an unbelievable spot.

My dad was a huge Cowboy fan too and he's gone and I couldn't have said it any better than what you did.

Defenses are currently designined to stop the pass. The best was to attack that is with a strong smash mouth run game. This offense is just loaded with talent and should be able to do that and then kill you with play action. I have little faith in this coaching staff to play to their own strengths and exploit their opponents weaknesses however.

What a difference a year makes.

Most solid units are Rams, Steelers & Titans IMO. But Cowboys could be best if EZ is as good as advertised.

You think we could use any of them for trade bait. We really could use a DE or two. Put McFadden and Dunbar on the market. Roll with Morris and the two rookies. Or perhaps, see what you could get for Morris. His stock is higher now than it was before the season started.

Thank you very much. I appreciate the comments. They had a big impact on our lives and I'm happy to be a Cowboys fan because of him

the two situations aren't mutually exclusive and both thoughts are valid. The way the cowboys handled the running back situation last year was very disappointing. going from the OPOY of the year to darren mcfadden with no young runner drafted as a contingency was a very shaky strategy. Signing Alf and then drafting two guys one with the 4th pick is also a strange approach especially considering the success mcfadden did end up having. The team just seems to go from overconfident to knee jerk immediately . I'm not complaining about being stacked at running back, it just seems like there was a realistic opportunity to spread resources around a bit more efficiently

they could have signed morris, and drafted henry or another good rb, and used the # 4 for defensive lineman or other def position.

I hope Elliot pans out to be as good as people said he would be, I liked henry better, and he looked good, in 1st ps game.
O yeah and Tenn is copying dallas 2014 and they looked good in first game.
