Dre Bly wants to be a Commander...

Betts is 28 years old. That isn't that young for a RB considering Portis is only 24. And if the trade happened, the Broncos would most likely throw in a 3rd round draft pick so the skins could use that on an RB.

It wouldn't be that bad of a trade. The Skins would get a younger Bly and a draft pick and have gotten rid of a CB in Springs who doesn't want to be there and is too injury prone.

It's an even deal as I see it.

it's actually the Skins who will be the ones who have to offer more, and Bly will only be 2 years younger than Springs by the time the season starts

Have you seen some of the trades they've made in recent years..

Yeah but this one would be over the top.

It WILL NOT happen unless they get a 2nd or 3rd and Bly for Springs and Betts.

Regardless of the dumb trades they've made in the past. Even though I think the Portis/Bailey trade was even.

Sounds like you have alot of faith in the Deadskins frtofc.. Not me!!!!!

Why would the Commanders need Bly when they have Rogers, Springs (even though he is probably gone if this trade happens) and Smoot?

betts is 28 but he has less tread on his tires than Portis....Betts has been a backup his whole career.

Portis >>>>>>>>>> Betts (the fumbler) LOL
I'll go on record as saying Portis doesn't start 16 games in one season in his career. He is injury prone and has at least one bad shoulder.

you bring up fumbling and u dont put it next to Portis' name....Portis fumbles a lot. his first year with the Skins he had like 4-5 fumbles inside the red zone alone.

Portis has 8 fumbles in his 3 years with the Skins.

Betts had 6 last season, and has 9 in 2 years. He didn't start til week 9 last year, I think.

He started all 16 games in 05. Last year was his most serious injury if I can recall. He is a damn good back. I'd take him over Jones.

Sorry I meant the rest of his career. I did know about 2005. Those days are over however. Southeast Jerome is a very good to excellent back. I wouldn't take him over Julius because I believe his career will be over in a few short years. If Julius stays in a offense where his carries are less than a single featured RB he will last much much longer.

Portis is younger than Julius by 1 year. Jones is 25

And if Portis and Betts split carries like Barber/Jones split carries, he could have a very long career.

I guess every NFL player would want to play for the skins. I mean who wouldn't want to be paid at least twice the market value for their services.

Didn't Julius break his shoulder his rookie year? And mess up something with his ankle the year after?

And didn't start splitting carries until this last year. Your point again?
