His 2011 haul is embarrassingly bad. pathethic to be honest.

Before you read this, please do not let your children in the room. Your anger and shock may result in your use of language not suitable for children’s ears! This top 10 (+5) is based on film work; it is not based on what other sites or people may think. It is not based on where a player might be drafted and it is not based on Rob’s value board. Rob’s board is meant for you to see where a player will most likely be selected in this draft. The talent board is meant to tell you what kind of talent I think the player has and if I think he will be successful at the next level, regardless of the round in which he is projected to be taken.

You get the best of both worlds with our two board system. The truth is there are no two Top 10 boards that are alike and many teams, during a draft, have players listed in their Top 10 and with 1st round grades that fall into the later rounds. That’s why it is so amazing that Rob has the accuracy rate he does on the top 100 he posts each year. Most years, I get burned pretty good because of who I list as a top 10 player. Last year, I listed Tim Tebow (Qcool smiley as the top player in the draft and believe me, I heard about it over and over again. I also listed Linval Joseph (DT) selected by the Giants in the 2nd round who did not play very much last year. Nevertheless, we shall wait and see how both players pan out in the years to come. Like I said, I profile from film. I do not write profiles based on “inside” information, on other people’s opinions or biased views. I do not use rumors as a base of my profiles and suggest those rumors are based on facts from trusted sources that I have supposedly cultivated over years of writing profiles. I just profile from film. This year, my top two picks are QB’s — just probably not the ones you are thinking of. With that in mind, here it goes! (Keep your blood pressure medication handy!)

Remember none of these mock draft experts walk on water when profiling players, if you remember other than Dontay Moch these picks echoed what all the other big name mock people were touting at the time. He always endeavors to hit a triple or home-run each year and ends up striking out of late. I shudder at the Matt Barkley choice but who knows no one saw JJ Watts stepping up like he has these last couple of years. If you are like me he is just one of ten or fifteen that I look at on a weekly basis to gleam for that little chunk of information that has fallen through the cracks. Hey we are not normal people here on the draft site we are very heavy fans of the cowboys. Embrace the diversity.

I don't particularly agree with his analysis and especially his writing style, but at least he doesn't puppet the BS that McShay does.

In all honesty, I really enjoy Mike Mayock. His analysis is always a treat during the draft.
I like him too.

Btw, all of these guys have their strengths.
Mayock is really strong in evaluating DBs, WRs, and linebackers.
I would trust his DB evals over anyone's.

I have no problem with opinions on anybody who does what Drew does for a living. However, I do think that it's a bit unfair to evaluate, based off of 2011. Evaluate of of a draft that is 3 or 4 years gone. That's the most fair evaluation IMO.

I'll evaluate any year you have data for.

But in 2011 he clearly championed guys who are terrible players while leaving out of his top 10 guys that have turned into perennial Pro Bowlers.

It helps me disagree in that I really disliked Jake Locker (feel free to search my name and locker in this forum).

If you are going to beat your chest you better back it up. This 2011 effort was laughably bad.

Again the guy bleats and bleats but has no real track record of success. Its absurd.

Yup, that is what makes it so shockingly bad.

He left out of his top 10 seemingly every guy who can play, LOL.
Cam, Von, AJ, Julio, Aldon. JJ Watt but instead chose many guys who don't start and are lucky to still be in the league.

If I gave you a list of the top 30 players and said choose any 10 as the worst you'd basically have his list.

You might also note he admits he chose Tim Tebow his top overall player for 2010.

Screams cry for attention to me but it's ok if guys like being bamboozled; I will discount him wholly.

It's your post. You are making the point. Why don't you go ahead and pick a draft that is 4 years out and you go ahead and gather the data and then that's a fair comparison. Don't ask me to research info for your point.

You have your opinion and that's find but don't get carried away.

I don't care who he has picked. This is not my issue, it's yours.

Um, good try holmes but no.
I provided all the data I need.
If you want more considered present it.

Bottom line is this guy is a hack who can't rate players worth squat.

ahh heck... on 2nd thought why not...

this stuff is like shooting mice in a barrel.

2009
top 10.

* 1. Mark Sanchez QB USC
* 2. Aaron Curry LB Wake Forest
* 3. Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech
* 4. Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia
* 5. Michael Oher LT Mississippi
* 6. Paul Kruger DE Utah
* 7. Hakeem Nicks WR North Carolina
* 8. Vontae Davis CB Illinois
* 9. Max Unger OL Oregon
* 10. Everett Brown DE Florida St

So his top overall selections
2009: Mark Sanchez
2010: Tim Tebow
2011: Blaine Gabbert

Of course he also famously stated Phillip Rivers needed to move to TE if he ever wanted to start. That he had NO CHANCE as a QB in any offense.

Your confused. I'm not holmes and I'm definitely not here for your convenient. I am glad that you did your own homework though. As I said earlier, I have no problems with anybodies opinion on Draft Prognosticators. Everybody is entitled but your way off base by thinking I need to provide you with Jack.

You don't like that, I guess you just have to suck it up.

Actually YOU were the one crying for more data.

It was YOUR homework. I did it because it was so heinously easy.

I don't owe YOU any additional evidence of anything and it was MY post YOU commented on, not the other way around.

Show me. The only thing I said is that you should really grade drafts 3 or 4 years out rather then a year old. That's true of anybody who is serious about actually evaluating drafts.

Welcome to the Suck.

Welcome to the Suck.

Let's recap:

JT: Drew Sucks. His 2011 top 10 was particularly awful almost as if he tried to make bad selections.
AB: You shouldn't judge so soon(even if half those guys are roofing houses now while the consensus guys he left off are already in Pro Bowls)
JT: I'll discuss any draft you want, provide it
AB: I don't want to discuss any of them, you do.
JT: I do, why? I already know he sucks.
AB: You just do, to be sure he really sucks.

Welcome to logical thinking 101.

"Show me."

Show me what I said exactly. Not your version of what happened.

Right. OK, you make all the statements you want. Unless you back it up, it is what it is and what that is, I can recognize.

You can't show me because what I said is correct.

That's the fact of the matter.
