Overpaid, he should have taken a hometown discount.

Dak was living in a home that was worth less than a million dollars until recently. (5 minutes from The Star).
His earnings off the field have been lucrative but they aren't generational wealth.

Drew Brees has an estimated net worth of 120M.
Dak 2M.

That very much matters lol.
One guy can retire at anytime and live a life of luxury and wealth.
The other can most definitely not. YET.

When Dak is 40 you can feel free to ask him to take a team discount.
to be fair, you're screwing up with your life if you can't retire off $2 mil

point is Dallas rarely if ever get these friendly signings.

When’s the last time we signed a 40+-year-old player who’s made a fortune the past couple of decades? Amari gave us a break by not asking us to match the Commanders offer which was almost $10M higher than ours. He took a lower offer to stay.

He's 15 yrs older then dak too. Some of you should just stop being cowboys fans if all you worry about is players money.
concern over what's best for the team when comparing talent/pay is not the same as caring about the persons money. I couldn't care less what Dak makes in his life. Obviously I speak for myself, but I've seen this generalizing tossed around by a few over here.

And? Dak's getting paid a ton outside his Cowboys contract. What does "he's already gotten paid" have to do with anything?
What does Dak have to do with this thread? They are different players in different places in their careers.

You just can't pass up any opportunity to tear down Dak.

Are you even looking at how they're structuring these deals?

Lawrence could be gone after next yr
Elliot's guaranteed dates were probably nixed in his restructure which will probably allow him to leave next yr or the next.
Jaylon Smith's deal doesn't even get past 7 figures until 2022 which could be the yr the team could get out of that deal.
Amaris deal from the sound of it is backend loaded which would allow the team to restructure and add more yrs with lower cap hits.

The team can still restructure deals that will free up 30mil.

This fo is doing just fine. Their priority was Dak and Cooper.
