After reading mode about his appeal to play another year being denied (because he wouldn't go on IR after a bad arm injury) he seems like he would be a good mid round pick for us. May or may not be ready this year (from what I have read he should be though not by training camp or even preseason) but was really good his junior year and started with 5 sacks in 7.5 TFLs in the 4 games he played hurt last year. Largely believed to have been just behind Bosa in terms of prospect status before getting hurt (from a couple of websites I saw) he know is being questioned a bit more, we might be able to get him cheap (say maybe one of our 6ths?) because of the past few months. What do you think?

An already limited athlete coming off an ACL tear.

We may have to use a 4th on him like his fellow bum former teammate Anthony Hitchens.

You mean the Hitchens who started at all 3 positions and did fairly well his rookie year?

No, I mean the bum who was forced to start because they ran out of options and the cheerleaders praised him for putting his helmet on correctly.

Horrific 4th round reach.

I could see one of the 6ths. I'm in Iowa and he's the kind of guy you want to play on your team even if it's just in a rotation.

Would you have prefer Carl Bradford or Logan Thomas (the two guys drafted right after him)? How about Khairi Fortt another LB drafted later in the round (who's been on 3 teams in 2 seasons). Those guys weren't such big reaches right? Yet Hitchens has had the best career out of all of them so far (or out of any LB drafted in the 4th round of the 2014 draft). I get that Hitchens isn't the best starter, but his work effort makes him a good plug and play backup, which is what you want in the first 2 years out of your 4th round picks. Sure if you are expecting a Pro Bowler every year from your 4th you are probably going to be disappointed in a guy like Hitchens, but if you want a guy who will work hard and actually make the team he's a pretty good player... but that's just me.
