I'm super excited to be going to my first NFL playoff game. It's not my 1st time in new stadium.
I'll be traveling from Lubbock tomorrow. I've heard the roads around Abilene are in bad condition. Does anyone live in the area who can give me an update?

Thanks.

I was supposed to fly into Abilene today and the runways and taxiways were closed. Freezing rain for two days. Not good.

Dont hit your breaks on over passes and bridges. Usually iced over. Other that that ull be fine. Just be aware and careful.

I live in Abilene. The roads today are good to go but Sunday they will be frozen again. Today is the first day I've driven in several days so get through here while it's passable.

Ive driven in the north pole and there are 2 major factors to consider.

1. You actually moreso drive on seriously cold snow that wont even make a snowman so you *do* have more traction.
2.y'all are used to it and far more considerate and understanding of others drivers and far more patient when on it.

That said, we suck at driving in rain down here, dont complicate it by freezing it.

Not necessarily we had one week In December that was mild and we had freezing rain the entire week. It not always compact snow on the road. I guess we are used to driving in all kinds of conditions.

In Seattle, we barely get any snow/ice. However, when we do, it's a total cluster due to all the damn hills.

I feel more prepared this year. We got a Subaru Crosstrek a couple months ago. Now, I just want some snow so I can feel all special and drive past all the stranded folk.

i like to make fun of Southerners to when it comes to weather, they make it sooo easy.

but u have to remember. they dont really prepare for ice and snow and cold. the roads arent treated, they dont buy "snow" tires. or put chains on!!!! crazy!

think about that.

I can go all over town in my 4wd if the other drivers stay home. The problem is that half of the other drivers will get on the highway and drive 5mph while the other half will drive like they always do at 70mph.

Where exactly do you live?

When I visited I was amazed at how polite n patient other drivers were. Aint like that down here.
