Drops - What Happened to This Stat?

After looking at the clip of Tree on Cowboys.com it brought to my mind how our receivers (Miles, Dez, Wit, and 'dem) have not been dropping the ball this year. In previous years it was a topic that went on for days and weeks.

No matter if you put Jesse, Tree or that other guy out there, the main skill you need from your receiver is to catch the ball when it comes your way. That's what we have in our guys this year.

Miles had a big drop early in the last game, but then he caught 3 touchdown passes. So, it isn't news.

Witten also had a drop - in my book anyways - it was thrown low but I expect a guy to make that catch. Also, Dez had a real bad one against the Jets.

B/c it's not TO, people aren't talking about it.

You beat me to it. The drops stat wasn't even mentioned much until TO became a Cowboy. And I haven't heard a lot about it since he left. I did watch a lot of Cowboys drops and tip drills last season, though. I agree with Sportsbabe. We have improved in that area.

This is my thought, as soon as I saw the Thread title. ESPN used to throw that stat out there and now, suddenly, it's not a subject anymore?
