This position went from being a dry gulch in the Southwest desert to being a fountain of talent gushing at the Star facility in Frisco .

Goodness it started with Carlos Watkins coming in FA from Houston thank you fellow Texans to getting OSA in the draft out of a big time college program to getting Gallimore healthy again to guys like Trysten Hill and the Hamilton’s contributing .

Gregory Tank and Parsons chasing down QB’s and making life miserable for them is great but the Cowboys need to stop the run and control the line of scrimmage and these tackles have really come on lately . Watkins is only 28 , Jerry needs to bring him back next year and not let him go in FA .

This whole defense looks way better and that starts up front. I would love for us to keep Watkins but finding replacements for LVE and Kazee might be a bigger concern.

But if we lose Watkins...Bohanna, Gallimore, Hill and Osa aren't jags. I can only think of three players that might be replaced because of performance issues.

SS- Thompson
LB- LVE
FS- Kazee

They are playing well as a unit overall.

The tackles look great due to the edge pressure.

It all works together.

Watkins is definitely worth trying to keep. I hope Urban rented instead of bought.

I think this is overrated, every time they take the starters out. The opposing team scores a td. When they're sprinkled in, ok

I still want the draft to be an eagles draft ol/dl

Watkins played this season on a 1-year, 1.75M contract.

I don't think that he'll be difficult to retain.

The issue is that they often only have 4 DTs active with 5 as the max.
Gallimore
Odighi
Bohanna
Hill

Quinn has also been using more sets with 4 DEs on 3rd downs as the season has progressed.

On the DLaw pick-6, it was:
Golston - DLaw - Armstrong - Gregory

Ideally they would keep a spot on the 53 man roster for a developmental player (i.e. A rookie or UDFA).

Fallen star has his wet blanket ….awww. Sarcasms 69k and counting like the McDonalds boasts .

It's going to be a long week.

A fountain of talent gushing at the Star.

Jesus.
It goes to show what a player like Parsons can make JAGS look good to fans. Parsons is the best defensive player in football. He is making a good player like Gregory look like Ware because of the attention Parsons gets. Look at DLaw the talking heads are saying he is back to being the best defensive player on the team. It is all because of the Lion.

A true team effort... and then Mr. Parsons as the wild card. Love defense!

Hill, Glennon and Heinicke aren't real tests.
Murray will be.
Hurts? ehhhh.

The true test will come when we have to face Stafford, Brady and/or Rodgers - quarterbacks with quick releases, weapons and pedigrees.

I'm liking what I see, but let's slow are rolls. Outside of Mahomes, who seems to be back on track, we really haven't faced a bevy of franchise quarterbacks.

But that's coming. That's coming.

Everyone remember the Dontari Poe Gerald McCoy signings how that helped nothing . Yes Watkins was a nice pick up in the off-season and OSA falling to a 3rd round put a smile on Will McClays draft day . Total upgrade over what was happening last season at this position .

True , washed up FA never fixes anything, good draft and good coaching helps.

Thompson has been on the practice squad much of the season and is primarily a special teams player.
- i.e. Minimal cost.

LVE has been good in the past several games.
- Just because he does not play up to his draft status does not mean that he is not a valuable contributor on this defense.

Kazee is not great but the defense couldn't be this good if the FS was terrible.
- Diggs does take more chances when he knows he has deep help from Kazee.
- Kazee has been the culprit in a couple of deep completions but he is probably better than most of the Cowboys Free Safeties the past decade.
- I would like to see an upgrade at FS but I'm concerned that letting Kazee go could result in FS becoming a problem like it was in many past seasons.

Somebody posted the idea of trying CB Brown at FS next year.
- With the performance of Kelvin Joseph vs WFT, I wonder about that concept.
- Lewis and Brown are under contract next season.
- Brown is a better tackler than Kazee.

Was Trysten Hill active vs Washington? Did not notice him in the game.

He has been making some plays, flashing some potential.

Ground breaking speed in that single high safety position would do wonders for this defense.

With our pass rush being what it is... a lot of teams are going to be throwing quick passes. You need quick defenders to defend those quick passes. Can't be giving up big gains on short passes. LVE just doesn't fit our style of play any more. We need LB's that can stop those run after catch yards. That's why I'm hoping Cox can step in and start next year.

The Cowboys got some quality reps in for several players this year. That experience for players 2nd or 3rd on the depth chart is invaluable.

Tank going down early was a blessing in disguise. Without that happening, does Parsons have 13 sacks?

Without Brent Urban and Neville Gallimore going down, do we see how good Osa Odiggety-dawg is?

Many of these players were thrust into action. Now we have a potent DL rotation that is building steam as we approach the playoffs.

They are still missing an alpha dog type DT. I like Gallimore and Osa. Watkins has been a nice surprise. Hill is what he is. He's a backup at this point.
