Here's the dilemma.

If the Cowboys sign Melton away from the Bears, that move may force the Bears to draft a DT 1st.
Probably Donald.
If the Bears resign Melton, Dallas has a much better chance of Donald falling to 16. I'd then see the Bears going CB.

Of course, what if the Bears resign Melton and then draft Donald anyway. That would suck.

I think you wrapped up all the scenarios and ruined any other possible scenarios for us to discuss.

THANKS!!!!

:p

What if Melton signs with a team not named the Bears or the Cowboys?
What if the Cowboys sign Melton, the Bears don't pick Donald, then should the Cowboys still draft Donald?

I would say yea...

I say pass on Melton since coming off injury. Take our chances with draft and sign Hatcher for 3yr-11 million deal with 5-6 mill guaranteed.

Dallas could sign 5 DTs this offseason then the draft comes...if Donald is there ..he is a Cowboy.

Is it possible there might be some prospect available that might turn out to be just as good as Melton or Donald? It could happen!
The point is, it's easy to get too enamored with one or two players when it's entirely possible this draft will turn up perhaps several others proving to have equal or even greater chances for success. The better scouts in the NFL probably already have a good idea who they are or at least, might be. Let's just hope we'll learn we have one with a handle on that.

These are 2 solid, not flashy, signings for sorely needed depth. I'm still hoping they get Donald in the first, but with the Ware move, my gut tells me they trade back in the 1st and get Ealy and then try for Hageman in the top of the 2nd.

Bears just signed DT Willie Young from the rival Lions. Things are looking up for Donald at 16!

I think they'll target Sutton.

I am stoked at the options to plant seeds in both lines and also get BPA every pick. The draft is loaded with offensive linemen and we will find a defender or two I am quite sure.

Donald isn't the only 3-tech in this draft. I would rather Dallas trade down into the 20's for an end like Dee Ford, Kony Ealy, or Scott Crichton, then go after a tackle like Will Sutton or Dominique Easley in the second round.

With Ware gone and how the draft and Free Agency is shaping up, I'm beginning to think that is exactly how they go.

Agreed,

Ideal situation is sign Melton, get Ford, Ealy, Crichton (ecstatic if we can get 2 of 3). Then invest in some cheaper proven DE Vets. That's the vision for the DL this off season.
