This early release will let other teams maybe adjust who they can release if they think he has more potential than some one they are looking at.

He was more of a run stuffer. Dallas needs guys that can get pressure up the middle and Ben Bass is the only one left who can do that on a regular basis other than Ratliff and Hatcher.
