Noticed him a lot today. Plays strong at the point of attack, good center of gravity, very active in the run game, pushed the pocket on a drop back.

DTs with potential don't make it to the practice squad. Someone picks them up. If the Cowboys want to keep him they will have to find a spot on the 53 man roster. (I wish they would expand the roster to 60).

He could replace Toia. If they keep 6 DT's.
Right now I have them keeping 5 DT's. As one of the converted DE to LB. Can step in for a few snaps at DT if needed.

The Dallas Cowboys signd Virginia Tech's Kelvin Gilliam following their 2026 draft haul. The Virginia Tech product put on a ton of weight in his five years at the collegiate level, starting out at Oklahoma around 256 pounds. Now closer to 300, he's an interior defender who brings stoutness to the table, though he is not a pass-rush specialist.

The club has made a concerted effort to bolster their run defense this offseason, and the focus carried over into their UDFA class. The move to a 3-4 front under new defensive coordinator Christian Parker has them searching for rotational players to allow Quinnen Williams to take a breather here or there. Gilliam will compete for that role this summer.
