DT Muhammad Wilkerson of Temple

He is a junior that just declared for the draft. Wilkerson has been dominant in the pass and run for two years in a row according to his stats and reports. Anyone seen him play? Would he be a good pick with our first rounder or is he more of a second rounder?

They like the guy they took in the supplemental draft last year so I wouldn't look for a DT to be taken very high unless he could also be a 3-4 DE.

I'm not entirely certain how that applies here, though.

he has been very productive in the passing game so he can't be too slow

Don't let his 40 time fool you, he is explosive off the snap. Not only just good at getting to the QB but penetrates to also stop the run. Not a guy with "hidden" stats (ties up 2 guys so someone else can make the play). Wilkerson will shed the blocks AND MAKE THE PLAY.

Like him a lot. He is in my 2nd mock.

23.5 TFLs the last two years to go along with 16.5 sacks.

Wilkerson was also third on the team in tackles this year heading into the bowl game with 70.

Definitely worth checking out.
