Callaway, on the other hand, was a nose tackle in the 3-4, which makes him a contender for the 1 technique in the 4-3. He was also given a three year extension by the Cowboys, which would indicate that they saw something they liked during his season with the practice squad.
Can anyone verify that Callaway received a 3-year contract?

Spotrac and Rotoworld both show him as a ERFA after 2013.

Callaway has some interesting measureables:

At 325 lbs his vert (31") was better than all of the top 10 DTs in the 2013 draft with the exception of Sheldon Richardson (32") who weighed 294 lbs.

Callaway had better 40-yard and 10-yard times than Jonathan Hankins.

I see lots of rotation that will be happening on the d line this year. Calloway, Price, Lissemore and Crawford getting reps at DT. Hopefully to keep the starters fresh for the season.

Personally I hope this writer is wrong and Crawford goes back to DE, we have plenty of DT's....

He's reportedly beefing up this offseason. I think it's looking like DT for him.

I kind of was, too, given that we don't have depth at DE. They must think he'll get more snaps inside, though. Either way, I hope he keeps on the trend he was on last year and ends up a hit for us on the DL. We could use the young depth.

Perhaps they don't think he has the quickness or speed to be an end and he might be one of those guys who bulks up easier and increases strength fairly well.. Time will tell, I can see him becoming another Hatcher in time..

He might still get some snaps at SDE on run downs. Seattle's SDE is Red Bryant (6-4, 323).

Sometimes we get too caught up in measurables and forget what the player has done on the actual playing field. If this is the same guy who was in camp last season, his performance tothis point is nothing to get excited about. With that said, he is a young player and perhaps the scheme change helps. Other than that, hmmmm...we'll see.
