After trading Ferguson to Miami I'd like to see us pick up a DT at some point in the draft. I'm not expecting it to be the first round, but what DT's might we look at?

It looks like Ratliff will be staying at NT for now, but if we draft a NT that may change.

RDE
Chris Canty
Jason Hatcher
NT
Tank Johnson
Red Bryant
LDE
Jay Ratliff
Marcus Spears
Stephen Bowen

We've actually go some quality depth on our defensive line.

I wouldn't mind our picking up a DT either, I like Rubin in the 3rd or maybe Frank Okam if he's there in the 5th.

I'd stay away form Rubin, his FILM work prior to the combine had him as a 6th rounder, but because he benched a lot he moved up 3 ROUNDS?
I'd stay away from the workout warriors!
Okam I can't see getting past round 3, but you never know, I just think his upside is too high fro some team not to pull the trigger in round 3.

I didn't see him as a 6th rounder anywhere.

To the contrary, Okam's stock is the one that has been falling although he may go as high as the 3rd, sure.

Then waht round was he ranked PRIOR ot the combine, considering he SHOT up dfraft boards and is still only ranked as a late 3rd rounder, so that tells me he must have been ranked around round 5 or 6 where I have seen him, I'm sure you never even ehard of him prior to the combine!

Okam was at one point a 1st rounder (although a long time ago) then he was knocked down to around mid to late 2nd and is now considered a 3rd rounder by most!
So you see, Rubins stock is RISING because he was a 5th or 6th rounder and is now a 3rd rounder, and Okams stock is dropping for awhile since he was a 1st rounder awhile back, for the most part a 2nd rounder, and now he's a 3rd rounder, SEE? That's why Okams stock is falling yet he's still a late 3rd rounder because he was rated higher prior and Rubin is a late 3rd and rising because he was considered a lower round prospect 5th 6th prior to the combine! GET IT NOW?

I saw him projected as a late 4th to early 5th round pick before the combine, but even before the combine he had started to move up (partly due to Okam sliding) and after the combine he's now seen as a late 3rd to mid 4th round pick. That's not a huge jump.

And yes, I was aware of him before the combine. You can see my pre-combine mock from 3 weeks ago, I had him as an alternate 5th round pick assuming he was still there when we picked (along with Okam).

The fact that Okam was seen as a 1st rounder at some point and is now projected as a 3-4th rounder and Rubin was seen as a 5th (or you say 6th) and now has a similar valuation should also tell you something.

Okam certainly has more girth than Rubin, but he's also known to take some plays off. I'd be happy with either one but I wouldn't take either before the late 3rd to mid 4th.

SO, LIKE I SAID, HE MOVED UP AFTER COMBINE SOLELY ON HIS BENCH PRESS!

SO you had him as a late 5th rounder (our 5th round pick 3 weeks ago) and now baed on his BENCH PRESS at the combine have him as a 3rd rounder, so isn't that basically EXACTLY WHAT I SAID?????????????////

I agree, I only said I don't like Rubin in round 3 because he moved up about 2 rounds based SOLELY on his bench press, which I don't like since he was ranked so much later based on the review of his PLAY "ON THE FIELD" prior to the combine!
I wouldn't mind Rubin late 4th I guess, but not earlier, I would take Okam with our 3rd only because he has so much more upside when he wants to play, if we can get him to play, he could be a steal, but that is a risk, but it's one I'm willing to take in late 3rd round!

He moved up due to a good performance at the senior bowl combined with a good combine. The same as most players that are moving right now. What's your point?

If all players did at the combine was lift weights and run 40's, then maybe you'd have an argument.

I went ahead and took the bold out of your posts for you btw, cause I'd like to think you're not 12 years old and incapable of getting your point across without resorting to that crap.

You need a new keyboard, I think. Your caps key and punctuation keys are doing awful awful things. I will reiterate, he didn't move based solely on a bench press.

You know what, you've convinced me. I'll take Okam in the 3rd too, sign me up.

Actually I put it in bold to make it easier to see my response!
There's so many quotes and responses and re responses, I figured I'd make it easier to tell which was my NEW response compared to the ones you already read.
with so many quotes in the same color, it's hard to see what was already said prior after awhile, hence I put my repsonse in bold ONLY to make it easier on your eyes to see where I responded! :)

I actually wish the board admin would make it so the QUOTES were in a different color to seperate it more to make it easier on us to no re read the same thing by accident from response to response!
