STRENGTHS
- Sprinter background becomes obvious when watching him close to the sideline on running backs or track down the ball while it’s in the air.
- Physicality not typical of sprinter, relishes the chance to pound the shoulder or mid-section of ballcarriers after coming across the field.
- Fills a gap in the run games even if starting the play in a cover-two alignment due to his recognition and reaction abilities.
- His athleticism helps him break down in the open field and his length aids him drag them to the ground, making him a reliable open-field tackler.
- Another important component of Williams' game is that he shows great balance in coverage, showcasing a smooth back-pedal, and fluid hips.
- Shows the hands to make difficult interception, as well.

He would be a good later round developmental type Safety.

He has many good physical attributes; however, Safety is the hardest position to evaluate based on a highlight video. Good Safeties must make plays without making mistakes. The highlights don't show the mistakes.

I think that is the key word. He has a lot of physical tools but I don't think he is the guy to come in and replace Sensabaugh right away

I agree. I don't think he would come in here day 1, but safeties in the later rounds have been popping up a lot in the NFL because of their talent. I think this kid is worth a shot

This guy is one of my cats. I've watched him play a few times and I'm telling you that I think he could come in and play quickly. Maybe not day one starter but he's pretty smart. He sees things and learns pretty well. He could be a guy that by year two, he could be a starter for somebody if he can stay healthy, go through a full camp and actually get on the field in game time situations for experience purposes.

I like him a lot.

Nevada S Duke Williams is an excellent force player..Had several "wow" shots against run.. He will play early in nickel/dime/special teams.

I feel you need a real safety and our choices of players who can cover and tackle are really only four IMO. The others are either making business decisions on tackling i.e. Mike Jenkins or lack coverage skills i..e. Roy Williams.
I never got to watch Duke Williams so I bow out of an evaluation of his talent.

In order of ability to help Cowboys
Vaccarro played on poor defensive team the Longhorns
Cyprien small school wonder who just showed up at Senior bowl
Swearingen got some look at me in him.
P. Thomas carries big stick and can cover.

next tier: no particular order of hierarchy
Jamar Taylor sure tackler coverage fair
TJ McDonald good instincts horrible tackler, hard to forget the Senior Bowl
Darius Slay good coverage great speed, fair tackler
Matt Elam the guy brings the wood , he is the guy who draws the flag for doing stupid more aggravation than adulation IMO
Eric Reid liability in coverage IMO, hope he is drafted inside the NFCeast

No doubt some will disagree with Elam and Reid assessment and they are my opinions from watching them during the season.
