We have been dumb and made mistakes over two coaching regimes - one who was the ultimate disciplinarian. Lets assume the cause is the players we have and not the coaches - because that is a logical conclusion.

Who is it? Who are the players causing the mistakes?

(Note: I actually like most of the guys I am about to call out below, but they are the ones who are the leaders and making the calls on O and D).

OFFENSE:
Gurode - Good blocker. But always struggled at the thinking part of the game. Does he not make the right protection calls?

Adams - Too many false starts, hearing issues or not

Romo - Too laid back and free willy. Doesn't demand discipline? Doesn't get everyone on the same page.

DEFENSE

Ken Hamlin - Safety has to be accountable for the defense
Bradie James - team captain and play caller

Some of these guys come across smart (James, Romo) but they have to take accountability for the stupid play and mistakes.

Romo, kind of really indicates the team's heart IMO. His december Demise is directly related to Team's decline.

For that matter, pats 10-12 years, Cowboys QBs haven't played well in December, at least since Irvin/Aikman left.

So Dumb or not Dumb, the fact of the matter is, Cowboys have lot of players who talk a lot. But they don't produce at cruch time, i.e. December. And top of the list is Romo. And it trickles down from there. Having said that, I dthink TO has to go. Sure Cowboys will miss lot of offensive fire power, but he is a distraction, wether he starts it or not.
