Dumb

If you miss it.
If you make it, it's likely a win.

They had momentum on the road.
It was the right call, but wrong play.

A slower loss in OT is still a loss.
It’s not absolute that they lose in OT. Going for 2 means resting the outcome of the game in a single play kinda like risking all the money you have on 1 roll of the dice.

Going for the lead on the road is the right move. "Dumb" was O'Brien refusing to use his timeouts on Hou's drive in the final 2:00 of the 1st half. Texans wound up settling for a fg w/ 2 useless to's in their pocket.

It's also not absolute they don't make the 2-pt conversion. They had momentum, but didn't go with what was working.

And the odds of one play are not worse than the odds of going to OT.

The dice analogy would be true if you would be risking all of your money at some point one way or the other.

The irony is the broncos did the same thing, got the 2pt conversion and still lost the game

Going for 2 down 1 with 30 seconds to go and it guarantees you a loss

And if you watch the JAG's O, this was most likely their only shot to win.

The play call was stupid.

People also forget going ahead late also forces the other team to go all out to go ahead. Chicago likely goes for OT but as Denver went ahead, they forced the issue and kicked a Fg for the win.

Aided by a roughing the passer call. Or else they don't get in FG range. I still don't see how it was roughing.

a bad roughing call at that. they need to make those reviewable too, those penalties are just as game changing and often wrong
