Dumbest draft thought on this board

Agree, but look what’s available..

I hate how this draft falls for us.. No impact hardly for us heading into next season.

Just continuity, health, and 20 year old rookies as our yearly upgrades. I hate it.
 
Any draft that has A'Darius Washington to the Cowboys. We don't need a 5'-8" midget who is not even fast who runs a 4.6 forty

I just prefer Horn who played in an inferior team, was their alpha on defense lining across the opposing team’s best player, while Surtain stayed on his side of the field. I like them both the about the same, Horn’s ceiling for me isn’t even that much higher than Surtain’s. Its just a personal preference on his style of play as a corner. Physical, aggressive. Thats what I feel the team needs.

I feel that 100% and don't disagree with any of it. Those are all the same reasons I would be totally fine with the Cowboys landing Horn, too. Good talk!
 
Back to the topic of the thread title....anyone that utters this phrase “the draft is a crap shoot...” doesn’t understand what the draft is.

A crap shoot is based entirely on dumb luck, or what would be the equivalent of picking a name out of a hat.

If you think that’s what the draft is like you’re silly.

I think they need to make something happen with a trade. I would offer Cooper to Detroit to move up to 7 for Pitts or I like taking Parsons at 10 then trading back up for Collins. I could see the OL scenario too where they take Slater then another OL round 2. I don’t like a CB here and a DT there...I hate that deal too it doesn’t get them anywhere.

Turns out he was a day 1 starter, started every game he every played in, solidified the o-line and made it our strength, went on to become a 4 time pro bowler and an all pro.

That's not true at all.

There were a dozen or so really loud complaints, most saying he could be had in the 2nd round and others like you said, exaggeratingly saying the 4th.
But I'm not even sure even half the people hated that trade.

Now, if we would've taken Freddy at 18, THEN most everyone would've complained.....knowing that 100% for sure we could get him much later.
Dallas knew that too, obviously.

We ended up getting both Travis Frederick and Terrance Williams for that 18th pick.

Btw, if Dallas likes Horn at 10, then I'm okay with it. It's their draft board, not mine.

Should we think about drafting a true center like Landon Dickerson in round 2? Do we trust Tyler B?

I absolutely loved the pick.

Even after Fredbeard turned out to be the best C in the game, some were still proclaiming how we could've gotten him later. This really really dumb "value" proclamation is about the silliest idea concerning the draft being screamed about.

Terrence was pretty good for us for a short time. He wasnt awful. Fredbeard was a solid pick and a steal.

and really shouldn't be clicking on draft threads, especially ones that are obviously discussing draft prospects.

they took the Texas kid and while he was ok, he certainly wasnt Allen. Drafting is a real crap shoot.

Allen was a better prospect and it wasn't close. He was considered first round talent and fell. Poor 40 time, I think.

Allen was hurt alot in SD. But since has really taken care of his body and had a nice career. We missed on him.
