DVR Recorder

I was thinking about buying this machine:

But I really don't know anything about it.

My apartment complex provides cable, but with no box or anything. Will that affect this recorder?

i have a DVR recorder & i love it even though i'm thinking about getting an upgrade(i've had mine for 7 years). the only thing i know is that without mine i wouldn't be able to record cowboys games or any of my favorite shows.

I dunno if that would work for you other than to capture HDTV over the air.

Well, you might get some digital channels over it. I dunno. My TV used to get channels without a box.

Might want to look into that.
