It means that if something were happening.... he would be wouldn't be defending him as much. Sure he could bite his tongue and say 1 thing in his defense, but backed him up the full.

Notice how there was an article about Jerry talking to the players about TO.. Don't think he would listen to Dware much?

Well, Ware said pretty confidently that he's going to be on the team. So if Jerry talked to Ware about it, there's your answer.

If I'm a Star player on my team and they ask me about any player - i will never talk bad in sum way or form about him.

Jerry was dumb enough to make his bed with a long term deal with a big signing bonus last spring when he could have let TO's contract play out. Or, heck, even offer him some added (converted) salary into bonus cash like he did with Ellis to keep him happy in his final year, but NO, he just had to sign the 35 year old potential problem guy to a big deal. Jerry can't help himself and his bed is made and now he has to lay down with the dog for 2009. The entire team may get fleas, but hey, that's the way Jerry"s NFL personnel acumen wind blows.

So did Witten basically at the Pro Bowl.

Pretty sure you'd talk to the only two guys on the team who are the very best at their positions in the league.

The media wanted to come back and tell us "sources" nonsense from the Pro Bowl but these guys have been on the record saying t.o. is a great player an dhelps them win and that they just need to work harder and execute.

which amazingly is just what i stated players would do because players respect talent.

that is a silly complaint.

t.o. was coming off of probably the best season in Cowboys history at WR.

the team went 13-4 with an offense ranked 2nd in the league.
and the offense tailed off only when t.o. was banged up.

his signing bonus wasn't large and his contract a pretty standard top WR deal.

the pats gave Moss 12 mil up front and 27 mil over 3 years. then welker made the pro bowl and moss didn't. Are the pats just dumb now too??

the panthers have given steve smith about 70 mil over the last 6 years and he has actually punched out two teammates.

Yes the 4 qtrs he missed that romo played really is a worthy point to show how we cant play without him.

Right.

Oh and to the original poster, Ware also said the locker room was a mess and needed accountability. He said this at a charity superbowl party he attended and did an interview with bill jones from cbs11. He said guys need to change.

Same thing witten said. Yes we want TO back and in the next breath guys need to be accountable in the locker room to each other and do their jobs.....Same as ratliff, same as roy williams.

So you can take these comments anyway you want.

Ellis and DWare both stated basically the same thing, they not only want TO back but need him to continue to move forward as per their words.

Much of the chaos is media driven and not the true story.

Greg indicating TO is "tactless" but that what he is saying is the Truth. I know, I know lets attack Ellis' character now but save it because DWare states a similar take, shall we attack his character as well?

There was no ambiguity with regard to their statements on TO, so you need to accept that whether you like TO or not and desire his departure.

Accountability for poor play is needed by the entire team but they are the same players saying TO practices hard and makes a difference in games when properly utilized. They did not say he was perfect in all ways and at all times but they did indicate he is a needed player on this team.

I do not really like TO's approach or persona in the media or the drama he can stir up because of his lack of tact but his desire to win and to play at a high level has never been in question.

If you do not like TO fine but please do not revise or inaccurately interpret DWare and others as if they did not say what they indeed said with regard to TO. It wreaks of denial of that which corresponds to reality.

Its ok to admit Dware stated TO is needed even if you think TO is not, sheesh.

Players know the situation. Throwing TO under the bus by saying he is a distraction and bombing all over him only makes things worse.

I believe them when they say that TO isn't a distraction. I don't see how any player could be a "true" distraction. I mean, how could any player distract a team from their preparations? What's he doing, flipping the lights on and off in meetings? Making armpit farts during pregame speeches? Talking about the hottie in the front row in the huddle?

Asking these guys if TO is a distraction isn't even a worthwhile question because I don't think TO is a distraction. He puts in tons of work so its not like hes a guy sitting in the hot tub yelling and screaming about how everyone else around him isn't doing their job. To his credit, TO busts his *** so hearing him say he wants to see something more is probably taken as a legit argument by players on the team. Thats why he gets support from guys and why he isn't a distraction. He does everything you could want a guy to do.

But when he is doing it, he's running his mouth at a hundred miles an hour about any and everything and not just to other guys on the team. He's doing interviews midseason and talking about things he should probably just leave in the locker room. Even if they are legit complaints, he shouldn't be putting them out there. Its not like Deion is going to come in and take playcalling duties. And when things go right, he takes the approach that "he told you".

So what they should ask those other guys is if they are sick of taking questions about TO every time a microphone is put in their face. Ask em if they would rather not do a TO interview multiple times per week. Guaranteed you start hearing what they really think. And you know that there are guys in the locker room who are fed up with it. All that unnecessary BS, you gotta have guys who would rather it go away. And thats the problem there. TO isn't so much a distraction as he is extra baggage. Just unnecessary extra crap. Unneeded attention and excessive tabloid coverage. Soap opera channel with picture-in-picture Ego network. Hes just an additional stressor. Not distracting, just disturbing, unnerving and a general nuisance.

And I do think that has an effect on guys. There's no way it doesn't. So you get a group who support him and agree with him and a group who wishes he would just disappear. Nobody is going to be the one to come out and say they aren't in favor of him. So you get the rehearsed answer that TO is the best guy ever.

Personally, I hope he goes. Dallas isn't any closer to being a legit contender than before he got in town. The team is more talented and more capable but all the excess baggage doesn't allow that to translate to success. Time to move on.

Guess I'm done ranting.

I wish players would tell the truth.."TO is a HUGE distraction and divides our locker room..I personaly don't like the guy"..But I can't blame them for covering it up..you just can't say that stuff, so you have to be nice about it and say the right things...

I love how all the "pro 81" guys don't believe anything the media says yet they believe our players when they talk to the media knowing it's gonna be seen by the public. now Ware could be being honest but you never know. A-Roid of the yankess said in a televised interview he never did steroids 14 months ago. yesterday A-Roid admitted he did steroids from 2001-2003. 81 will probably be back next season so hopefully he will shut up and act like a professional. than the media will have 1 less non football related thing to report on. but I doubt it especially if we start to lose like last season.

A "playmaker" will always back up another "playmaker".
