Demarcus Ware is a great leadership model...and he adds to the defensive line positional group.

Whether he’s called an end or a linebacker, Parsons is the primary edge player of the Cowboys. He gets as many snaps off the EDGE as he can handle. Players like Lawrence, Dante Fowler Jr., Dorance Armstrong, Sam Williams, Chauncey Golston and possibly even Takk McKinley, split up the remaining opportunities.

While Fowler (28) and McKinley (27) are resigned to veteran rotational roles, Armstrong (25) and Williams (24) are ascending players who are possibly on the cusp of breakout seasons. Quinn’s unlikely to ever completely abandon his rotation on the line but it’s safe to say he’s interested in getting ample opportunities for his young and ascending players.

Things aren’t quite so crowded on the inside of the Dallas defensive line. The rookie Mazi Smith and Johnathan Hankins are virtual locks as the top two 1-tech tackles. While Osa Odighizuwa is the top player at 3-tech.

It seems EDGE is set for the foreseeable future and 1t is looking better than it has in ages. I just wish we had more impact players at 3t. I worry about what happens if Osa goes down for an extended period. Gallimore hasn't played up to his talent, and behind him, we're looking at a bunch of DE/DT hybrids. Maybe Mazi can get some snaps there in a pinch?

Lawrence will be used some at the 3 this season.

I really like where this is going on the defensive side:

APY: $1.271 million (rookie contract; 111th among interior defensive linemen).
In his second pro season, Odighizuwa had an average pass-rush get-off of 0.96 seconds, per NGS, ranking 11th among defensive tackles. He piled up 26 stops in run defense and 31 pressures as a pass rusher. That latter figure is more than the combined pressures of all other Cowboys defensive tackles (30). He also single-handedly outproduced his Dallas DT cohorts in sacks (four to three). Odighizuwa feels like an exceptional fit in Dan Quinn’s defense.

More excited to see this defense and it's improvement than anything else. Still have my concerns on offense though.
But who was the last time we could say this about the defense over the offense, except for possibly last year as well.

But to me, it seems at least 15 years, probably much longer to say we feel good to great about the defense.

My how this DL has evolved quickly, no longer yesterday's DL lineup, nice depth with ceiling still.
Mix in depth like second-year player Sam Williams, veteran Jonathan Hankins, fourth-round pick Villiami Fehoko, veteran Dorance Armstrong, and Neville Gallimore in a contract year, and the Cowboys defensive line is built to take over games with their depth. Odighizuwa can be considered the engine of the tackle group though, constantly playing with a high motor that helps everyone around him make plays.

He's pretty qualified!

Side note: I bet this dude could still put up 8 sacks as a passrushing specialist lol
he is 40, he would get beat down by tackles and not make it through the season. Tyler would eat his lunch

Question He's clearly going into the hall for exploits done in a Cowboys uniform , yes? So my question is does it make him less of a player because he never won the big one or enjoyed playoff success ?

That's why I don't root for players like the Front runners do. I couldn't care less about his Super Bowl won in Denver. But hey! that's just how I get down !
He won a superbowl....

It may change by the time the season starts; but as of now I'm still going with the Cowboys secondary as the best unit on the defense.

Reading comprehension ? Look it up ! I typed that DWare is clearly going into the hall for his exploits as a Cowboys. So I was pondering is he in the Hall because of his career, or of the one Super Bowl he was a part of?

Remember proof read your post before sending next time. You'll spare yourself the embarrassment. Goodness gracious what a mentally challenged breed

Because of his career.

Any player that plays a premier position (DE, QB, LT) that has Wares level of accolades (9x pro bowl, all decade team, 4x first team all-pro 3x 2nd team, 2x NFL sack leader) is automatically a shoe in regardless of playoff success.

The superbowl should of been icing on the cake in regard to him being 1st ballot but unfortunately, he wasn't. It was pretty controversial at the time (he legitimately had a better career and accolades then 4 out of the 5 guys that where enshrined in the previous years class )

It feels like it was only yesterday when he was the youngster learning from Haley. Now he's the retired HOF player giving pointers to the youngsters.
My how time flies.

Thank You for Answering the question or having the reading comprehension skills of a third grader. Some dim bulb on here either wouldn't or couldn't comprehend my question.

I suspect it was the former as it wouldn't play well well with his agenda.

Again Thanks Man
