I have been reading reports the last 2 days that Dwayne Bowe has been wanting out of Kansas City.

He is 28 years old and no, this isn't madden for PS3 but apparently a realistic scenario.

Yes Bowe is signed to a franchise player contract without a long term deal, the reason he wants out of KC and obviously is looking for a big pay day 2 years under 30.

He is a premier WR and in my opinion better than any WR on our team. Also has missed very few games and is the the physical, leaping WR we already employ and prefer.

In saying this, would you trade Miles Austin, age 28 as well, heads up and/or a 5th rounder if this was required to seal the deal?

We're looking at a player who will warrant $10 - $11/ year at probably 5 years.

I know we need to focus and add to our trenches on both sides of the ball, but I would certainly do this trade if we had the opportunity.

Thoughts?

I think WR is the least of this teams problems in order to win a championship... WE need to focus on our D line and O line... WE dont need any more WR's in my opinion... WE need a quality stud Safety also... The list is so long, Bowe is the LAST thing this team needs in order to win a championship...

I dont think Miles is less talented, maybe thats really biased or homerish, but I just don't think he is... but if Bowe came into Dallas with something to prove it might be a good swap. Bowe has that natural ability and I think Miles does too...

Idk I think just stay with Miles... either way, if we had Bryant, Miles, AND Bowe Garrett would still find ways to run an offense that neither takes advantage of our own strengths or the defenses weaknesses

I think WR is one of our lesser worries. Tony has shown that he can mesh with receivers that come out of nowhere and both Dez and Miles are a solid #1 and #2.

Fix the O-Line and D-Line then everybody will look better.

We would be giving KC Miles Austin and/or a 5th. If not I wouldn't want another WR either. You missed that key point in the opportunity.

The opportunity is contingent on our often injured starting WR being exchanged in the deal for typically their more durable and more talented pro bowl WR.

Would be Bowe and Bryant. KC gets Austin. No shot we take all 3, nor would I want us to.

Advantages of Bowe to me: More durable, respected more by the opposition, seems to come up with the big catch more than Austin.

Advantages of Austin: Already has a repoir with Romo, we already absorbed the largest part of his long term deal.

no deal.
we do not need another big money WR.

we likely release Miles before we pay another big yearly salary.
as long as he is cheap we are set there.
unfortunately he is playing like that right now.

i dont think miles sees that 6.7m base next year.

so imho we will have neither WR.

we could sign a fa wr to a reasonable deal. something in the 20m range for 4 years with reasonable cap hits for a couple years.

Would Dwayne Bowe help this team? Yes. Do I want to pay the price? No.

no. why do that? because the problems with this team isn't at WR position. so doing this you haven't improved the team. and this ain't fantasy football. you don't win because you accumulate more fantasy points.

I disagree. WR may be our most overlooked issue. Miles is the only guy you can count on to know the routes and actually run them. After him we have an extremely talented guy who can't pull his head out of you know where and our #3 guy who isn't good at anything. We have a serious problem at the second most important skill position (after qb) in today's NFL. Our starting WR's consist of two #2s and a guy that shouldn't be on the roster.

No. I would not do that. Miles has a very reasonable contract. As has been mentioned, he is the only WR that can be counted on to run the right route and, he's the only one with real speed to get deep. On top of that, the team has been penalized 10 Million for his contract. Would be beyond reality to think that we would move him while still paying penalty for him. I just don't see that.

Now, if we were to consider Dez for Bowe, that might be more realistic.

advantages of the team? NOTHING.. the team will have the same issues... This is a non factor

Hmmm. At the end of preseason there was a thread about us having the best receivers in the NFL. Lots of people were on board with the sentiment. Better than the Falcons and better than the giants by a mile. What has happened since then? We still have Wit, Dez, Miles. Ogletree and my fave, Andre Holmes.

I think we should be saving our~GiGGle~Jerry's money for offensive linemen next season.

This. Even if I do believe Bowe is better than Austin.

Miles has been our 3rd biggest rip off very close in line to Roy Williams WR and Tnew. Very disappointed in Miles for the checks he pulls in, especially with his size and ability. In my opinion, one of the biggest quitters on this team. You can't double team Dez, Witten AND Miles. Something is going on.

I don't think he is a problem. I see him open a lot. I just don't see him getting the ball much. You can't do anything about that. How many targets does he get a game?
