Not that I'm not happy with Spencer, but Bowe is looking like a hell of a receiver over in Kansas City. I'm sure the team that's noticing the most is the Saints, since they took Meachem right before and they have yet to even have him active for a game.

He's OK but he's no Crayton. ;)

My philosophy is that a team can't have every great player (realized or not) who's available every year, so I try to focus on the players we do have. Spencer's potential is far from being capped and he's shown enough flashes for me to only guess just how good he can ultimately become. Being an LSU fan, I hope that Bowe has a great, Hall of Fame type career, but he's not doing it in a Cowboys uniform, so que sera sera.

He has made some plays, but he hasn't come full bore yet. I wanted him in the draft. Bowe and Spencer (Spencer was #2) where second and third on my list of players that the Cowboys has a possiblity of getting. (Peterson was first and only if he dropped to 10th. Jerry said if he did dropped to 10th, he would have went after him)

With Ellis hurt, we'd have been up the creek without a paddle minus Spencer. Meanwhile, our offense is leading the world. Why again are we talking about some WR we didn't draft who had one good game?

Because CZ posters love revisionist history and what could have been.

Well not exactly, I mean we had Carpenter, who we spent a first rounder on. I would like to believe that pick wasn't a complete waste and he could have gotten a few things done as a starter.

But I see your point.

And we're talking about him cause it's a forum and talking is what you do on a forum, you can always skip over the posts you don't like, like I do.

One good game?

Bowe has been working it with Damon Huard. He won their last two games. As a rookie. His catch last week for the TD against Minnesota was absurd. He's averaging 75 yards a game and has 3 TDs in 4 games.

Until yesterday, his best game was what, 70 yards?

Guess I just don't get it. If Crayton and Hurd had proved they couldn't play with Glenn hurt, and Spencer couldn't get on the field, I could see talking about a WR we could have taken instead. But it's been just the opposite -- Spencer has invaluable for us and our WR corps is doing great.

I think you're mistaking an observational thread for a "We should have taken..." thread.

It's easy to do, lol. But I believe the thread is non-committal.

Yeah, I think it's fair to say you don't get it.

i would loved to have had bowe but you sure can't knock the spencer pick. he is playing real well for a guy learning a new position.
i think spencer will be a very good player for us for years to come. and with ellis's injury it was the right move

why would u rather go and get a WR when Crayton, and Hurd are playing great this year? I liked Bowe coming out of college but with Spencer, he gives us another pass rusher on the edge just like Ware. If Glenn didnt get hurt Bowe would be rite on the bench waiting behind Crayton...

Crayton had a great game. Before that he was playing pretty mediocre. And Hurd has about 1-2 good plays per game. Neither has been "playing great" this year.

before this year crayton was at slot, when we run a 2 TE scheme the slot receiver is not seeing the ball that much. Crayton plays with passion and reminds me of T.O. becuase he isnt a receiver that is scared of contact.
