Dwight Clark Passed Away at Age 61 of ALS

He is the owner of the most hated football highlight in my football fandom. With that being said, I am happy is has passed. He no longer has to struggle or suffer from that horrible disease. Now, he is at eternal rest. If I am not mistaken, ALS is still undefeated, which sucks. Not even the dreaded cancer is undefeated. I hope that someone finally kicks ALS right in the junk and beats it like a red-headed stepchild during my lifetime.

I agree. I hope that we are able to find a cure to ALS. That is a horrible disease.

He's a permanent fixture in my mind when it comes to the old 49ers/Cowboys rivalry. The 49ers honored him at the Cowboys game last year at halftime. It was a privilege to see all of the former 49er players paying tribute to him. God speed, Mr Clark. Prayers for your family and loved ones.

BTW he was a TE, not a WR.

Actually, he was listed as both. In fact, on that play, "The Catch", Clark was lined up as the right side Wide Out. Solomon was lined up in the slot, to Clark's left. The TE on that play, I believe, was actually Charley Young.

Either way, doesn't matter.

RIP Dwight Edward Clark - (January 8, 1957 – June 4, 2018)

Mr. Clark was both. After playing, he served as a team executive as well for the Niners.
