Would love to sign him, at least as a stop gap until Lawrence/Gregory return. I realize he's 36 but hold on guys, he's still hungry and had 8 sacks last season in 11 games. That's the same total as Lawrence and twice as many as Crawford and they played 16 games. Salary last year was $970,000, counting $412,000 against the cap. Well worth it IMO. Opinions...

GO COWBOYS!!!!!

No thanks, don't bring in any over the hill vets that are gonna have any chance at taking reps from younger players. Only go to them if we suffer a serious injury at the position.

Let's see what it looks like in preseason with Gregory and Lawrence playing, then decide on guys like Freeney.

I think he would be a good addition. Won't cost that much and can provide a pass rush, which is what we sorely need. Dude has a bend out of this world and gets lower to the ground at full speed better than anyone I've seen.

Did you even read the OP?

But does a veteran with a ring give you full commitment on a one-year cheap deal at the end of his career?

Actually happens often, just not with players of caliber.

True, I was hoping to imply what it'd be with a person like Freeney. You sign this guy, and even if he is Gregory's backup, he'll be cutting into someone like Tapper's playtime.

Hardy kept Gregory from getting a larger number of snaps. The injury didn't help at all but still, the guy was barely on the field even after he was back.

Pretty much made a play that won a game for Arizona down the stretch last year. I doubt the Cardinals regretted giving him a shot.

He gave the Cardinals a full commitment on a one year deal last year.

For less than a million, hell yeah, I'd take a flier on him.
