If we switch to a 4-3...what would it take to get him? Indy is clearly looking to get younger. Could he fit in our cap?

And the Cowboys want to get older?

The window is closing...Got possibly 2 more years before Ratliff,Ware and Tony decline. And Witten

I'd pass and get a younger guy!

Why is it that people always want someone else cast offs, why,,,
if they can't help them win what make people think they can us..

Everyone complains about Spencer I can only imagine how much people would complain about Freeney. He may bring more of a pass rush.. but he would go games without a tackle. He was not himself this season compared to how he usually plays.

He's a pretty good castoff.

To mention Spencer in the same sentence as Freeney is laughable. Sure he was not himself, considering the Colts were always losing and teams would run the clock out with the run game.

Dwight can't help us win? :laugh2:

He's not what he used to be, but he's still a very good player.

Would be pretty awesome. We could try to build the OLine and have a dominant offense like the Colts and a defense that isn't dominant but can play with the lead and wreak havoc in our stadium.

I think with the money he'd be seeking Dallas could bring in a couple players to help shore up the D. I'd pass.

window closes faster for the franchise by getting older guys. If Freeney want to come in for a 1 or 2 year deal fine beyond that I would not take him.

I hope Tony and Rat, Ware and Witten get a SB but I don't want to sell the team down the river for 3 or 4 players.

My hope for this franchise is to build a contending team and be in a position to contend for many years

I would sign him to a 1-2 year deal in a second. Freeney can be a beast at times.

I think his cap cost for this year is near 14 million. Still want him ?

If they did something like this I'd rather have Mario Williams.

Point is that Colts are definitely going to try to trade him (no one will bite) and eventually cut him. He would definitely be a nice addition if it's on the cheap to come in a get some sacks especially if Spencer is gone and we draft a DE. What better teacher than all pros Ware and Freeney? I will add there seem to be a lot of vet DEs out there this year that could be had though... so any of them might do at the right price (i.e. Freeney, Williams, Abraham, etc.)

I'm not comparing the two by any means, you missed the point of my post. I was pointing out all the negativity and attention Spencer gets (a second tier player imo)... imagine what the fans will do when Freeney goes invisible for a game or two without a sack to his name.

Here are some keys stats on Freeney from this season. He managed his fewest amount of sacks in 4 year years (8.5 sacks) and a career low in tackles (just 19 total tackles, 13 solo, 6 assists). If other teams were always running the ball when they were up he should def have more than 19 tackles all year long...

And granted some of this may have to do with how the rest of the D-line played in Indy as well.

This. Dallas needs youth in the trenches and overall. No more retreads unless the are under 27.
