Eagles 6 point favorites?

Just saw the line, this morning. I know this is going to be a tough game...Most people are picking the Eagles.

But VEGAS has them as 6 point favorites! I think it would've been more even , maybe even a "pickem tie".....?

6 point spread is kind of big for the NFL.

I have always heard the home team gets 3 automatically.
I think people are expecting the Eagles to score a lot of points and the question is how many will we score with an unproven run game and no Dez.

Our defense is going to need to step up this year.

This game has the highest point spread somewhat neutralizing the larger than average line given that a lot of points are expected.

Don't understand why everyone is shocked or feeling disrespected, the Eagles are at home and healthy while the Cowboys are on the road and are missing one of their best players as well as significant pass rushers.

Vegas lines have less to do with actual football and teams abilities and more with getting the right amount of people to bet the way needed for the house to win. Put no stock in an expected outcome of a game by what a betting line is.

That being said. Based on all of the facts surrounding the game. I can understand why Philly. Playing at home against a rival coming in with their two best defenders,stud pass rusher,and second best offensive weapon missing. Are being picked to win by the majority. If Philly can't beat this Cowboy team today. They might as well fold up the their tents and plan for next year.

So smart money is all over Dallas and points. The spread has been caused by the crazy public who thinks Dez injury kills Dallas. This is easy money.

I understand looking at it that way and I got where you're coming from. I just view this game differently though. Dallas isn't going to go undefeated and a loss here... while you are correct that it hurts their record... won't be that huge a deal. However, a loss for Philly here would be pretty devastating. Going to 0-2 and having lost to their main division rival at home in a game they were supposed to win easily.

Maybe I should have put it as Philly stands to lose a lot more from this game than Dallas does.
